Guest guest
Hi Dara, My kids have never taken Bactrim before, but have had allergic reactions to other meds that caused all over body rashes that can last for days. Â I take that back- I just checked and the rash is still there, worse this evening. Now my question is, if it were an allergic reaction, would he still be rashy 24 hours after the last dose? Guest guest
My son had reaction to amoxycillan when he was a baby (pre-lyme dx) but that was obvious, huge hives all over his body. This is more like a dermatitis rash. What did your kids'rashed look like? Guest guest
Dara, It was more like a red, lacy looking kind of rash on my daughter and a measly looking rash on my son. ________________________________ From: darabeth2003 <dara.alewine@...> Sent: Sun, March 14, 2010 8:22:29 PM Subject: Re: [ ] rash on bactrim- still there.  My son had reaction to amoxycillan when he was a baby (pre-lyme dx) but that was obvious, huge hives all over his body. Guest guest
Dara, My daughters hives/rash looked like a bunch of mosquito bites on her arms and chest, if I remember correctly. Guest guest
My rash from Bactrim was after only one pill. I was on steroids for 6 weeks to get it out of my system. They told me if I had taken a second dose it probably would have been fatal. This was before I had lyme. Just be careful. Guest guest
My sister got a rash so bad she had to stop the antibiotics. She had several doctors look at it and none of them could even tell her what it was. Also know that Yeast Infection Rashes can appear anywhere on the body and antibiotics cause yeast growth. It might help to take Biotin to help control yeast growth. It helps me and clears up my skin. good luck, Suzanne On Mar 15, 2010, at 8:23 AM, Farrell wrote: > Dara, > My daughters hives/rash looked like a bunch of mosquito bites on her > arms > and chest, if I remember correctly. > > On Sun, Mar 14, 2010 at 8:22 PM, darabeth2003 <dara.alewine@... > >wrote: > > > > > > > > > My son had reaction to amoxycillan when he was a baby (pre-lyme > dx) but > > that was obvious, huge hives all over his body.
