I would keep an open mind, if I could tell you how many people get a diagnosis other than lyme and down the road they come back. PLEASE research what is going on!!!! IT could save you alot of time, frustration and $$$. Stay in touch. sue in nj
Guest guest
Kim, I'd still try and look into what is causing the unexplained autoimmune reaction. I had very high antibodies to thyroid which I was told was an autoimmune condition and they have now all gone with abx for lyme. Be cautious especially if they are giving her cortisone, it improves symptoms (obviously it depletes immune reactions) but ask any lymie who was ever given cortisone (and they are legions!) how badly they fared afterwards. Sorry, I don't want to send you into a worry spiral again but it might pay to ask her docs if they have a good reaon for giving her what they are giving her, ask for their reasonning to make sure they are not just looking at symptoms as is so often the case. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Beth and Irma and Everyone, Thank you so much for posting the potty training tips! We've been trying to potty train Charlie for two to three years now and these tips are great. I especially like the ideas about the poster and asking Charlie to help us clean up after him Loriann, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. We are keeping him in our prayers. Charlyne and everyone on the list with school problems, How are things going with the school? We are thinking about you and are hoping for the best. Donna and everyone, As an update, we have an appointment with Dr. Capone next Thursday. We read a lot about the gluten free caseine free diet and started Charlie on it this morning. (He eats a gallon of ice cream a day and goldfish and Cheerios). Thinking back, we realized that the ice cream might be one of the reasons we've been having so much trouble on car trips. We always feed him extra ice cream (stop at Friendly's etc.) and bring goldfish to keep him occupied in the car. (On the especially bad trip last fall when he wouldn't stop screaming, he had eaten only ice cream and goldfish for two days and we stopped to get him ice cream to stop his melt downs.) We are hoping may be the GFCF diet will help. Has anyone else had any luck on the diet? We are doing lots more research. Our home internet access is still down (after a week and I can't wait for my husband to access this site too! Thank you all again for all your support and help. This is the best we've felt in years! Wishing you all the best and lots of hugs too! Marjorie

Guest guest
Just a FYI, for us, the district did NOT pay for the private preschool placement. They " didn't do that " , and although they didn't offer a full inclusion preschool and we could have taken them to court on that, I think they know that preschool is so short that by the time you'd get a day in court, your child will be in kindergarten! I was pretty irritated about this, but decided that if she didn't have DS, we would have paid for our church preschool, just like we did for her sisters. And, the district did provide all her services and education in special day preschool, so although we had to get everything through 2 diferent programs, it was a very good expereince for . Rationalization, perhaps, but I've always said that this is an area that I really would like to work on, even though we don't need preschool services anymore! Now I just need to get a little time. , mom to (11), (9 DS), and Sammy (8) thebombtexas wrote: > A big thank you to everyone who responded to my question for After 3 > Options for Adena. Guest guest
Thank you to everyone who responded to my email about my 3 year old's foot pain. Good news -- late yesterday he was complaining again, so I looked at his foot and was thrilled to see that it was now swollen and red. Took him to his pediatrician who said he had a bee sting and that sometimes the physical reaction shows up a few days later. Benedryl has worked wonders and I am so incredibly relieved. This also taught me the lesson that I need to be careful about attributing everything to Lyme (which I am definitely prone towards doing since SO MUCH IS actually due to Lyme). Anyway, wanted to pass on the good news. Beth
