Guest guest
Quick thought. If your urine is changing color....especially to a darker color, you might want to have your dr. give you an ultrasound. You could have a gall stone that is backing up the bile duct into your liver. That would explain a lot of your lab values. Just a thought. And you can live without a gall bladder. You can't live without a liver. Your choice of UVA is an excellent one. That must mean that you are in VA. If you said that before, I missed it. More later, Anne

Guest guest
That's a good suggestion from Anne. Also, hep c can affect your kidneys. It certainly has mine, prolly indirectly but has nonetheless. good luck alley
Guest guest
Hi , I'm not sure how long you have been on MTX, but If you recently started, 4 months is probably too long for a follow up to see if you are progressing. While you probably need pain medication, continually taking stronger meds or increasing dosages, seems a bit risky. I'm certainly not an expert, but it seems that if you are actively pursuing the treatment of PA, you need to be seeing your rheumy much more frequently than you are. I know that insurance or funds might be a problem, but perhaps you can work something out with the rheumy? Unless you get this under control, you could be risking joint damage. It's too bad that you are being foreclosed and that your wife is leaving. At this point, you really need reach deep within yourself and muster whatever you can to get your health headed in the right direction. Once you do that, then you can start to deal with these other problems. Stay well,
Guest guest
Even though your appointment is 4 months away, you can still call the rheumys office and discuss these problems with his nurse. Just ask for a call-back from either the doctor or his nurse. Let them know you are in a tremendous amount of pain and that you are increasingly depressed. They should either adjust your meds over the phone or have you come in sooner to discuss options. If they don't do either, find another rheumy. You don't have to wait until your next appointment - call the doctor NOW. good luck, sherry z
Guest guest
Hey , thanks, I had a great rheumy was seeing him for about a year after i first got this , then he moved to a diff practice they no longer take my ins , so my reg md reffered me to this new rheumy and his earliest appointment was 4 months kinda sucks , and i have severe joint damage , my elbow locked up total no movement at all so i had surgery on it and they removed the entire elbow joint, was supposed to be a simple bone scrap with a possible external hinge but when he got in he said it was worse than he thought so HE choose to remove the joint never informed me or my wife never knew till i started therapy and my therapist told me something is not right it should not feel like this, and refused to do therapy on me till i went and had a scan on it thats when i found out what he had done, went back to the surgen and he said oh yea it was worse than we thought so i went ahead and removed the joint so now i just have the upper and lower arm bones rubbing on top of each other, went to have a prostatic elbow this surgen said yes i can fix it after i had seen 3 others who said impossible too much damage was done she said u need a mri then we can start from there , i had the mri went to her office a few days later she walked in gave me a hug and said " i was wrong there is nothing i can do except cut all the tendons holding everything in place or remove your lower arm to stop your pain " i said no i will live with the pain, see the bones rub together because there is nothing there to cushion them so i have very little use of right arm and i am right handed, lmao try to learn to wipe your butt with your left hand after using your right for over 30 years , sounds simple right lmao Try to start using a fork and spoon with your left hand after using right for 30 years again sounds simple right , i just know once they remove it there is no going back , and they are making new breaks in this everyday so i thought why not wait and one day i may be the next 6 million dollar man bionic elbow sorry bad joke but trying to keep my spirits up john > > Hi , > I'm not sure how long you have been on MTX, but If you recently > started, 4 months is probably too long for a follow up to see if you > are progressing.
