Guest guest
I have the same problem -- our pediatrician told me I was irresponsible for having Maya on so many antibiotics. She gives me dirty looks. As a result I just don't have the girls wee her and actually, other than the Lyme & Co., they are pretty healthy and don't need the doctor anyway. We're in California. ________________________________ From: Suzanne <suzlwilliams@...> Sent: Tue, November 2, 2010 11:11:32 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Primary Doctor Troubles What part of the country do you live in? Guest guest
I also have a terrible time with my ped doctor. She even told the school that my daughter did NOT have chronic Lyme disease.....and wrote a letter to them. It & #39;s truly abuse how they treat us - untill they or their children get this they refuse to educate themselves - truly sad!!!!! Sorry you are all going through this - BUT it sure will be amazing when our children become the doctors and start helping the sick kids!!!!! Bless you all

Guest guest
We just make a quick trip each year to get the form required by our school system saying that their vaccines are up to date. We don't even try to get their Doc to understand. Dr J cares for my boys in all the important ways. --Sue On 11/2/2010 10:02 AM, likeaspeckofpepper wrote: > > I am unable to find a primary care Dr. that is supportive of my > child's treatment from her llmd. Guest guest
Dear Sue, The kids school doesn't question Doctor J at all? Because I have to have a doctors letter stating that the girls are ill - because they chronically miss school more days then what is allowed.......... thanks - Diane ________________________________ From: Sue McKeen <susanmckeen@...> Sent: Tue, November 2, 2010 1:52:24 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Primary Doctor Troubles  We just make a quick trip each year to get the form required by our school system saying that their vaccines are up to date. Guest guest
This has been an issue for us as well. Our Pediatrician was willing to " humor " us until my sons herx reaction sent him to the hospital for 3 days. After that terrifying experience I felt strongly about finding a primary care doctor that was closer to home and available for " little emergencies " should one arise again because his LLMD at the time was not and our old Pediatrician would no longer be supportive. We were blessed to find a doctor who specializes in home care and although he is not Lyme Literate he is sympathetic to our plight and understands the controversy. He was willing to offer us additional medical support and has been a great sounding board. We have also changed LLMD's since that awful experience. Our current LLMD is closer to home and much easier to get a hold of if we need to. He has even texted us to check up on the kids from time to time. We have still had to use my old Pediatrician for vaccines and annual physicals though. > > > I am unable to find a primary care Dr. that is > supportive of my > > child's treatment from her llmd. Guest guest
Yes, I have heard that too. In fact before we knew my kids were sick they received both the flu and then the swine flu vaccine, shortly after they became very symptomatic.  We have since felt that the vaccines played some role in their Lyme, and although I wish i had known then what i know now, if the vaccines made us aware of their illness i am grateful for it. However, I heard a LLMD say that he sometimes recommends a flu shot to his ADULT patients to get their immune system going. My sick kids were not due for any required vaccines this year (and we will no longer receive any that are not legally necessary to attend school) just the paper work. I will send you a private message shortly. I'm just curious though, how is it that you are being treated by S.B. and Dr.J at the same time? S.B was openly and adamantly opposed to our seeing Dr. J. during our visit. If S.B. would have acknowledged our sons illness we would have been happy to be treated there. > > > > > I am unable to find a primary care Dr. that is > > supportive of my > > > child's treatment from her llmd. Guest guest
i know that here in california my sons primary dr. was trying to tell me he will " have to have it to go to school. " not true tho, i just had to sign a waiver and the school never gave us any problem but the dr. would always bring it up at visits and give me an attitude, so i switched drs! Guest guest
Thanks everyone. It seems that I am not alone. She has had no other issues except Lyme and Co. so all is well and I feel that her llmd provides very comprehensive care. I just wish that I could find a supportive Dr. that is lyme friendly to go to should the need arise. As for the vaccinations, my child had a slew of them AND a tick bite (reinfection) all in one week and then the real horror began. Never again. There was no reason to have her receive so many vaccinations at one time. Had I known then what I know now....

Guest guest
I've not been able to find a primary doc who was supportive of the lyme diagnosis. So, I just don't bring it up. We only go if she needs a physical and for annual check ups so we can get her other meds filled. I wish I could be of more help. It's really frustrating to say the least. Best wishes! Guest guest
just asked our llmd in CA last week and he adamantly said NO FLU SHOTS OR VACCINES OF ANY KIND while we are being treated. ________________________________ From: pavone1 <pavone1@...> Sent: Mon, November 8, 2010 6:56:58 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Primary Doctor Troubles hmmm.... > > > > > > > > > I am unable to find a primary care Dr. that is > > > > supportive of my > > > > > child's treatment from her llmd.
