Guest guest
I do. In addition to the pro-biotics we supplement with vitD (really important in the northeast anyway) bitB (several), magnesium, CoQ10, and some amino acids. In general we are happy with the naturopath, but she is very concerned about the long term impact of the antibiotics so we always have to have " that talk " . She's in Concord if you are interested in her contact information. The LLMD is aware of the naturopath and thinks it is helpful to see her. darabeth2003 wrote: > > My 6yo son (almost 7) has congenital lyme, babesia and erlichia. Guest guest
We just go to our LLMD -- but we have loads of supplements, including probiotics, magnesium, calcium, vitamins B-6 and C, and other things to strengthen the body and detox effectively. I think it is especially important to have probiotics when you are on antibiotics as they can wreak havoc with your intestinal flora and the probiotics help stabilize. Guest guest
Natasha, Does your LLMD tell you what to supplement with and the doses, or do you do that on your own? Guest guest
He tells me exactly what to supplement with and the doses, and the combination changes with every visit, depending on most current symptoms etc. From: darabeth2003 <dara.alewine@...> Subject: Re: [ ] adjunctive treatments Date: Thursday, February 11, 2010, 2:24 PM Â Natasha, Does your LLMD tell you what to supplement with and the doses, or do you do that on your own? Guest guest
My daughter's LLMD " prescribes " supplements and he bases it on current symptoms and issues. It is imperative that with the use of abx and other meds, that your body has liver support, adrenal support and other system supports (as needed) so that you don't cause long term damage. Supplements and non-traditional treatments can also assist with detoxing to help rid your body of the bacteria as it dies off, and other toxins. Guest guest
This was a concern of mine also. I love my son's lyme doctor,(don't get me wrong) but he never even suggested the probiotics. I wouldn't have known about them if I hadn't found this group. He never gave any ideas about any supplements, therefore my son is only on probiotics and a multivitamin, which I highly doubt is enough. Guest guest
You might want to try visiting lymenet and go to the flash discussion. It's a forum board, and all sorts of great information can be found there. I have an entire list of questions and such to discuss with our LLMD when we go back next week.
