Guest guest
Hi everyone, I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Deb and I've just joined the group. I've yet to be officially diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis but an orthopedic surgeon strongly suspects it and is going to send me to an immunologist and rheumatologist. I already have an auto immune disorder called Hashimoto's disease which is where the body attacks the thyroid gland. I have psoriasis on my skin and have had a lot of joint pain for many years. Just recently I have begun to develop pain in my fingers/hands and feet and toes...also bad pain in my hip and knees and neck. I am only in my mid 30's but already feel like an old woman. lol I also have some other strange things which I think could be related to psoriatic arthritis. I was under the care of a rheumy and she diagnosed fibromyalgia (a diagnosis of exclusion) but I am being sent back as they are now looking at psoriatic arthritis. Do you think it sounds as if I might have psoriatic arthritis? Also, can this arthritis effect other organs in the body? I have a feeling its effecting my lungs but I don't know whether I should bring this up with the doctors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
