Guest guest
I too have spans of time when I am completely stiff and I have found that a change in weather can help. For instance I moved from South Florida to a Northern city and feel at least a relief during Fall Winter and Spring. Sometimes a trip to a different city's climate can be surprisingly helpful. I take a warm bath in the morning and then I also plunge my hands and feet in cold water (in the bathroom sink/tub - sometimes with ice) to get moving. I also found naps help, I tend to arrange a time to go back to hotel and lay down in the middle of the day- I just get stiffer the more fatigued I get. Car rides are hard for me, what helps is squeezing and releasing my muscles and rotating my feet during the trip- I use a cane on long trips to help walking around reststops. I try to keep a discipline of caring for myself, I can no longer push through a day like other people. Good luck and I hope your trip is more fun then painful. Guest guest
We can all feel for you for what you describe. Have you tried water-therapy, meaning time in a pool, starting out gently but then trying to exercise there more thoroughly? That doesn't have to mean swimming, even, though swimming itself would be ideal if you can. Regular, disciplined time in a pool, moving parts of your body, can really help the type of symptoms you describe. Don Boston
Guest guest
Thank you Don, we do have a pool in the community where we live. I guess I haven't thought of the exercise concept in the pool, I usually don't enjoy going because I don't swim, though I am not afraid of the water just never learned how to do more than dog paddle. I will have to make the time to go and start a routine. Thanks again.
Guest guest
Funny you should say you moved from South Florida farther north and feel relief with the Fall. I used to live in Indiana and was so much better up there. The humidity here in Florida is really hard on me, but we had to come south due to DH health. I will certainly take you advice and not push myself during vacation. I want to enjoy not feel worse while off work. Thank you for your info.
