Guest guest
Here's what made me smile today. First my own backstory - I woke up after the 4th very restless/painful night in a row to find that my guest bedroom and bathroom was flooded from a sewer backup. I had about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of sewer water all over my newly-installed wood floors. Half the bedroom, its closet and the hall closet. It was pouring rain outside when I hobbled out to turn off the main water valve. I spent over an hour trying to get my stiff and painful hand/knee/hip/ankle/toe joints to cooperate so I could sop up the mess from the floor while waiting for the plumber to arrive. Halfway through this horrendous cleanup, the doorbell rang and interrupted my much-longer-than-5-minute pity party. I expected the plumber, but instead it was a young friend with her 2 year old son and 8 month old daughter, come to pick up a book I had for her. Blake gave me a big smile and hug and headed for my " toy cabinet " and held out her arms for me to hold her. I grabbed that baby and smelled her wonderful baby smell and all my worries just melted away like magic! What's a little flood? What's an aching body? All's right with the world when a baby smiles at you!!! still smiling, sherry z p.s. The plumber came but couldn't do anything in the rain. He'll be back in the morning. Some kind friends came over and helped me finish the sopping-up job. Meanwhile I have no running water and no potty. Every towel in the house is dripping wet with nasty water and I can't run the washing machine until the water is turned back on. At least I have bottled water to drink and brush my teeth with! Never a dull moment... > > I know this sounds like an odd topic for a message board focused on a > disease with no cure. But, day in and day out I listen to peoples sad > stories. Guest guest
Hi Sherry, Sorry to hear about the plumbing problems. Hope everything is back to normal soon. I agree with what you say about the smallest things that can make you smile through most anything. My daughter put our 7 month old nephew's picture on our screen saver, so every-time I turn the computer on I see this sweet little face crawling toward me. We came home from Oregon 2 weeks ago and I have been sick ever since. I haven't had a decent night's sleep for over a month due to this and other aches and pains, etc. But I Thank God I can still laugh at stupid commercials, smile when my sister tells me about her grandson's antics. Laughter is the best medicine afterall. When you hurt the most is when you need to find (hunt if you have to) something to smile or laugh out loud about. God bless you, Sherry. You light up everyone's life with your knowledge and sweet personality. Next time you visit your daughter, perhaps you can plan a trip to Tahoe and stop by for coffee on your way up Highway 50. Guest guest
Hi, I'm new. I was diagnosed with PA about a month ago. I am currently taking Methotrexate and see very little difference, but it's only been 5 weeks. Anyway, what makes me smile are my three dogs. I love walking them and seeing how happy they are that I am with them. Moose, my Lhasa/Cocker mix has the cutest face that makes me smile every time I look at it. He has such a joyful look to him. Take care, Randi in AZ
