Guest guest
Hi . Glad you joined. I am a lurker here but can feel for you since my daughter has psoriatic arthritis. What you described about the toe happened to my daughter as well. She was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis around 6 years old. She had the sausage toe you described. Sometimes it's also called sausage digit. You can google pics and see. Probably the same thing your son has. We had almost a year or run around from all kinds of docs before we met the rheumy that finally figured it all out. You are on the right path with getting him in to see the rheumy. I am not familiar with how fast or slow this condition can take hold. I wish I had answers for you but keep your chin up and be strong for your son. It is good he has you to help him. I do hope the docs will get the pain under control so he can at least be better able to deal with all the other things that are going on with him. This group is the best for support and questions you may have. I swear the people on here know more then some of the docs! Best wishes for you son and for you. Keep us updated. Guest guest
My attack came very suddenly with no prior signs of Psoriasis or arthritis pain. I went from being very physically active to barely able to function or sleep from the pain. It started in Dec 2007 and Methotrexate was no help. In June 2008 I started 100mg twice daily Minocycline antibiotic and 50mg Diclofenac. I stopped the Methotrexate the week I started Minocycline and weaned off Prednisone in 30 days. I continue to do well on Antibiotic Protocol and am back to playing golf again and maintain most of my physical activity. vinnylid
Guest guest
, I am so sorry for your son. Watching our children suffer is the worst thing for a mother. He sounds like his symptoms struck like a Mac truck. I started with the knees at 15. Another three years until I was diagnosed. Mine progressed slowly until after the birth of my second child when I was 25. Then it " attacked. " It does sound like PA. Don't be scared of the meds when he is diagnosed. They have saved me from total immobility. This group is great for gaining knowledge and support on our journey with this disease. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Please keep us posted! -Eileen
