Guest guest
Hello I am 47 yrs old with years of painful rashes on feet, toes, ankles, palms and fingers. In May the rashes came and have not left. Dermatology diagnosed psoriasis, treated w/ heavy regimen of steroids that made me bonkers yet cleared rash for short time. Then prescribed talcunex, vanos, Puva/light box.Nothing was working. I kept telling her how painful it was to walk and use my hands..feet/toes, hands/finger swelling. almost had to cut rings off. Pain now in elbows, knees and hips. Have had shoulder and neck pain for quite some time. The fatigue and stress is taking a toll on me and my family. She put me on methotrexate low dose..no help. am now on 20 mg weekly (tough on my tummy). Well my PCP saw me for another reason and did some labs, referred me to Rhuemo, where I went yesterday. I am grateful that it is not RA (my mom has)but overwhelmed with the PsA diagnosis. He will try to pre-auth Humira and wants me to stay on the methotrexate but take it in half doses. I am also taking folic acid daily. People just don't understand. I have missed 1-1.5 days of work weekly since May. Just bought bedroom shoes to wear to work. Whopee!! Cannot wear any closed in shoes and not even think about tennis shoes to exercise or walk. So sorry this is so lengthy. I need suggestions on how to cope and leave with this
