Guest guest
hmmm-never heard of scrubber booties and they sound wonderful. I can't bend over to scrub so use old pillowcases on my broom and that helps a lot. carol On Mon, 04 Jul 2005 20:21:47 -0000 " belowskinbeauty " <belowskinbeauty@...> writes: > I was thinking about this group, as I was trying to get a bit of > housecleaning done. Guest guest
You do your housecleaning the same way I do. I pace myself. Do alittle at a time, rest and start again. It will get done sooner or later. belowskinbeauty <belowskinbeauty@...> wrote: I was thinking about this group, as I was trying to get a bit of housecleaning done. Guest guest
Hi Kassandra, I am not able to clean my house either. I am able to clean my toilet and do laundry without pain, thats it. I have had to apply for a caregiver to come in and help me. I don't cook, I usually eat a cup of yogurt a day, salad, rice cakes, fruit. Sometimes I am able to make instant rice and beans. I never do anything that causes me to have to stand for any length of time due to my back. My hubby has to do most of the cleaning and work full-time, I am hoping he will be able to start working part-time or not at all so he can stay home and help me. Oh if only. I know I have not been able to help but I know what you are going through and feel your frustration. Lori in AZ
Guest guest
Hi Kassandra, these sites may help you look for new ways to do old chores: http://www.mycleverhands.com/home.html http://www.safetfresh.net/cleaning_brush.aspx http://www.harborfreight.com/20-inch-long-handle-utility-scrub-brush-66371.html?\ utm_term=66371 & utm_medium=cse & utm_source=shoppingdotcom I have not bought any of the above products, but I would if I needed too. I have made wooden extensions for the short handled things I have. I don't kneel nor bend very well anymore. I can relate.
Guest guest
Hi Casandra: Just wanted to tell you that you are not alone, yes house work is hard work and even harder with PsA. I have learned that I have to pace myself and not try to do everything in one day like I used to. So if it takes 2 days to clean the bathroom so be it, do the sink counters, toilet one day, the tub/tile the next and the floor last. However it works for you. You know it's funny my boyfriend and I just had this conversation because we were painting the living room and when he moved some of the large furniture pieces he was horrified by the dust bunnies behind them and said " when was the last time you cleaned back there " , well you can imagine my response, something like the " the last time you moved it for me " . Had to yet again say, you know I have PsA and it hurts and I can't do these things like I used to. The way I see it is my house is clean enough and I am not looking to get a Good Housekeeping seal of approval. So just don't overdo, make sure your boyfriend continues to help you out and if you have children who are old enough have them help too. Best wishes, take care and happy house cleaning.
