New FDA warnings on biologics

Yesterday, the FDA issue a requirement for new " black box " warning

labels to be affixed to Remicade, Humira, Enbrel, and Cinzek due to an

inhttp://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/05/business/05drug.htmlcreased risk of

infection from histoplasmosis. In at least 21 of the 240 cases

evaluated, the disease had not been discovered by doctors early on and

nearly half the 21 died of the disease.
