We moved from Australia to polis land for a 9 months so we could get

treatment for our family for Lyme Disease. We traveled up to Hyde Park to see

Dr H every 2nd month we were there (11 hours round trip and worth it to see a Dr

who has treated 12,000 people with LD), and he now treats us via phone back in

Australia (we've been home 3 months). We mainly " see " his Nurse Practicioner

Fallon & he's great.

I had treatment in Australia for several years, but my family hadn't. The

treatment in Australia saved my life (they thought I had ALS), but I was in an

electric wheelchair. After getting treatment from Dr H, he made me better than

I have been for 22 years since I got Lyme, and I haven't used my wheelchair

since january (after 8 years in it). My daughter is still in a wheelchair, and

is very sick, but is much better than she was (we no longer take her to hospital

regularly in an ambulance). My other daughter is doing well, as is my husband -

both of whom have LD mildly. Both my girls are 16 - I don't know if he takes

younger kids or not, but it would be worth a phone call (you won't get to speak

to a real person, just a machine, and someone will call you back).

Good luck finding the right LLMD for you & your family.

Cheers

> PA is a nightmare for finding docs' I live south west of Scranton. If you're

familiar with Knoebels or Bloomsburg that's where we are. We go to Dr. Horowitz

in Hyde Park NY. Both my daughter and I were very sick and they helped us

tremendously. I just posted a very helpful link under " Western Blot. " you might

find it very informative.

> One important thing to remember is that the diagnosis for Lyme is clinical.

The blood tests are only supposed to be used to confirm but never rule out Lyme.

The doctor's I've spoken with all say that a six week course of doxy is needed

immediately after the initial bite. My daughter's doctors gave her Doryx instead

of Doxy because she has a history of severe acid reflux. She was able to

tolerate that without any problems. Good Luck to you!
