Guest guest
Hi.  My 8 yr old son has been on Azithromycin for almost nine months now and has had no ear problems. I've read a lot about how hard it is on the ears and am a little concerned. My son has been on it for almost 2 months and so far seems OK. (I ask perdiodically how his ears feel.) One day a few weeks ago, he had an earache and I kind of freaked out about it... skipped the azith dose that day. The ear pain passed and he hasn't had it again. Just wondering if anyone else has done OK with it long-term.
Guest guest
My daughter has been an azithromycin for over 3 years with no problems. Both of her doctors agree this is a good medicine that in conjunction with the placquinil is attacking the Lyme, bartonella and even the mycoplasma pneumonia. Guest guest
My son took it for about 10 months and it CURED his " permanent " hearing loss. Just baffled the ENT that did NOT believe in Lymes to begin with. I loved that day. Guest guest
My daughter has been on it for 3 years and has been fine on it. I know that, for adults anyway, that sometimes it can cause tinnitus (ringing in the ears) or hearing loss but stopping the med reverses this. Don't worry it will be OK.
