Guest guest
My rheumy told that combining Arava and MTX does not really have a increased clinical efficacy. But there combined usage increases the complications. You would probably have to come off one or another. Or may have to start biologics to prevent further liver effects... Hope you get better quickly... Sri
Guest guest
I have a damaged liver and I was only on Arava for 2 months . saw a difference in level of teeth problems and got off it but it had already caused the damage . you may want to start taking milk thistle supplements as they will protect your liver. I didn't know about milk thistle back then. I take it everyday now because I have been on some powerful medications .all my liver tests are normal now, good luck cathy from ma
Guest guest
You are absolutely right about milk thistle. My daughter at one point in her life had a Hep C scare (tested positive but turned out ultimately to be an error) and I did a lot of research on milk thistle - it does work and has been used by the Chinese for centuries to help liver problems. My sister has a co-worker who had Hep C, which ultimately can become life threatening because it literally can destroy the liver; and none of the traditional western meds helped. His doc said he was going to try one last thing and it was milk thistle. It worked and he's been fine ever since . . . . .
