Hi All

I was on methotrexate for about a year. (10 tablets per week) It made me feel

very ill and we tried splitting the dose and using extra folic acid to

counteract the sickness and diarrhea but nothing seemed to help. After about

seven months I started to get dizzy spells. My rheumy decided after a year of

this to take me off methotrexate and put me on salfsalazine. I took one tablet

per day for a week and then went up to two tablets per day. As soon as I went

onto two tablets per day I collapsed and had a suspected seizure although the

hospital I was rushed to were not sure what had happened. I have since been

having various test for heart problems although all these so far have come back

negative. Since coming off the DMARDs I have been fine and had no dizzy spells

of any sort. I wondered if anyone else had the same sort of problems with DMARDs

as my rheumy seems to think that this medication cannot cause problems like

this. I am in my sixties and in general good health other than very painful PsA.

At the moment I am not on any medication for PsA. There is talk of my going on

Biologicals but understandably I am a little wary. I am in the UK.
