Guest guest
Hi Kaethe -- My younger daughter had " stretch marks " all over her legs when she was in fifth grade and her pediatrician told me they were stretch marks. Idiot. I took her to the LLMD and by a year later they had faded. I don't think these bigger ones, which look like dragon claw parks, will ever disappear completely. They are fading in places now and showing up vividly in others. Did your LLMD tell you why they appear if the Bartonella is not flaring? We are waiting for the Bartonella stuff from our LLMD -- he said to take it but didn't have any so he had to order it (you can't order it directly). I hope it will help. My daughter is now back to having terrible pain in the soles of her feet. I am so tired of her being sick. On the bright side, she is back to being funny, has more energy and can think better, so apparently something has improved. I am glad we are en route to trying Byron White. We were doing IV silver for a while and it made a huge difference, but we had to stop due to quality control issues with the manufacturer. I like the idea of using something powerful other than antibiotics to pound these bugs. My doctor said that teas are a great way to get herbs, and that we really couldn't drink too much green, licorice and ginger tea. I find that those really detox me well --I'm the only one in my family who seems willing to drink them and I am pretty close to well now -- I'd say, most days, 95%. It's very exciting. Thanks for your reassuring words. Warmly, Natasha ________________________________ From: Kaethe <batikquilt@...> Sent: Sun, January 16, 2011 7:26:55 AM Subject: [ ] Re:Byron White Bartonella protocol Natasha, I know how frightening it can be to see those bartonella streaks. My daughter had gone on an antibiotic holiday in the fall. She needed to do it to give her body a break to rid itself of built-up toxins. The doctor also wanted to see which symptoms would re-emerge so he could mount a new attack. Within a few weeks, the streaks that had faded over the summer reappeared in a huge way. They were on the sides of her abdomen. They were angry-looking, dark reddish-purple, about six inches long. As if that weren't scary enough, three days later they had spread completely around her abdomen, front, back and sides. A call to the LLMD put my mind at ease when he said it does not necessarily mean that the bartonella is rapidly multiplying. I kept that in mind over the next few days while she finished up her Coartem for babesia. When she started back on the bartonella meds, the streaks began to fade once again. Scary as that was, I am grateful for her wise LLMD and his reassurance. It also proves to me that those streaks are not " merely " stretch marks and she is on the correct treatment! Are you beginning to see an improvement? Do not hesitate to call the doctor whenever you have concerns. I hope your girls are healing and their streaks are fading. Guest guest
Dear Natasha, Meg is doing well on the Byron White Bartonella and Lyme drops. She has managed a bit of a busier schedule without setbacks, and she has some life in her eyes that has been missing for a while. She had those horrible bart stripes for years before we learned what they were. She had them on her sides and her front, but the worst was the Christmas tree rash down her entire back. I found that they would fade to white, but not disappear and then would get angry purple in a flare. With alot of treatments they finally faded, and are now gone. Dr. H felt the drops were worth doing though given some of the symptoms that could be bart. Because Bart can be so difficult to totally clear out, he believes in treating it a bit longer I think. Some LLMDs told us the stripes lasted after the infection was cleared but others said if they were there it was sign the bart was still there. When she was being treated the stripes always got lighter or disappeared, so I really do think it is a sign infection is still present. Not growing or flaring bad, but there non the less. Guest guest
, Meg's only been on the BW about 3 weeks. She was on about 5 years of aggressive antibiotic treatment for bart. She was on many combinations for the bart at first, then took a 6-9 month break and then back on for a few more years with other abx. I think the cipro and bactrim helped the best. She did zithromax with cipro and a few years of IV doxy in there too. The stripes finally disappeared last spring after years of them fading and returning, and she was put on Factive for 4 monthes and just stopped that. Dr. H has her on bart drops so I guess he is not certain it is totally resolved. Her IgG levels and some IgMs wax and wane over the last few years for bart. How can you be sure if it is cleared or Not? I fear it is lyme, that you can never be certain, because t here are no definitive tests to prove either way. Hope that helps. Guest guest
Hi mary, yes, that is helpful, I don't know how old Meg is, but were you ever considered about the side effects of cipro? How long did you take the cipro for? My daughter has also only had bart. igg/iga levels slightly positive once (after many tests) and sometimes has some stripes, but the stripes are red, as if someone had scratched her, never purple or looking like stretch marks, so I wonder about whether bart. is the culprit, Some of the rashes were biopsied and actually came out as being hives! Anyway, yeah, my main question is about the cipro and its side effects. thanks! michelle ________________________________ From: Faces <faces@...> Sent: Sun, January 16, 2011 5:06:52 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Re:Byron White Bartonella protocol  , Meg's only been on the BW about 3 weeks. Guest guest
Dear , Meg is now 20 and started treatment for lyme at age 14. She was on cipro for about 2 years at first then a switch and back on it for 1-2 years the second time. We talked to Dr. J about side effects esp. the ruptured tendons and he said it was rare and he had never seen it. More common with levoquin, which he did not use in kids. Meg never had a problem with that or anything else. Only the zithromax really bothered her in that her stomach couldn't take the higher doses, but did ok on the lower ones. Meg has been ill since age 3 and was on various abx at earlier ages, but they thought it was CFS then, not Lyme....Years wasted. Meg's bart stripes started more like the scratch marks, then more like light stretch marks, and after a few years turned to the angry reddish purple ones. But even then, they would fade and come back all in one day!! I took pictures when they were at their worst. I think the worst rash, the Christmas tree one all down her back, came after she had begun the treatment. Meg was lucky enough to get one positive PCR test very early on that proved Bartonella henselae. She has never had another PCR pos. for bart, but has many for IGG and IGM. And they go from negative to borderline to high 1:256. She hasn't been tested in a while and it will be interesting to see what it is like by summer maybe... Glad the information was helpful. I wish there were better ways to know when infections were really flaring and when they were clearing...
