Guest guest
I am new to this whole lyme-thing and am feeling a little overwhelmed. Our daughter is six and has been struggling with headaches for years. She has also had leg pains that wake her up at night and keep her up for hours for the past two - three years (pain primarily in her knee). About two years ago, she started showing significant anxiety issues, and we ended up having her diagnosed and treated at UPenn in Philly for 7+ months. Lately, she has trouble staying up past 7:00 at night, sometimes falling asleep at 6:00 in the evening! Finally, she was diagnosed with lyme disease last week. Our pediatrician put her on 28 days of antibiotics. I am worried that might not be an aggressive enough treatment, as she clearly must have had this for years! We live in Lancaster County, PA, but we are willing to travel to get her the help that she needs. Can anyone suggest a doctor in Philly/Baltimore/etc area? Guest guest
Hi, I'm sorry, l live in Ct, so I'm not familiar with any doctors in your area, but I wanted to comment because when I read your story, I would swear I was reading about my son. Our children's symptoms are almost identical. My son is 9, and was diagnosed a week after he turned 8.His LLMD said he feels he actually has had lyme since he was around 3.
