Guest guest
I have just recently been diagnosed with PA and now I am wondering if the muscle pain, I have been thinking was being caused by the cholesterol medication I was on, could be due to the PA. How can I tell the difference? When my family doctor took me off of the cholesterol medication I was taking, I thought that the muscle pain got better, but it came back without the medication. (This was all before I was diagnosed with PA.) He put me on another cholesterol medication and I am now having knots and soreness in my muscles, but I am still not sure it is the medication. Also, I will get places on my body that feel like the skin is burned or something. No redness or any physical signs except when I touch those areas, or my clothes rub across them, they are very tender. It seems to be just the surface of my skin. This has been going on for several years and it wasn't until my muscles seemed to get painful and very tired while walking, or doing other physical exercise, that I asked my family doctor about it and he tried taking me off of the cholesterol medication. I am just not sure what to think and what I should do as I don't see my Rhuematologist until May. This disease has me totally baffled as I don't know what is possibly caused by it or by something else. Any advice would be truly appreciated.
