Guest guest
I have never had psoriatic Arthritis though I do get some form of roscea occasionally on my face and psoriasis. My childhood and teen excema comes back if I get overheated or too stressed out. I was called scabby by all the kids as I was covered in it and it was quite painful. So I can relate to disfiguring and discomfort of a skin disease. I have so many things wrong with me I cannot count including osteo arthritis. I have MS so I have an immune system run amuck. So I can related to when stress gets too high, so does symptoms. However, this is not about me. I want to learn more about psoriatic arthritis as my caregiver and room mate who helps me with my illness has this psoriatic arthritis and I have watched it progress over the last 8 years. I have been researching it over internet and some of the traditional medical treatments scare the hell out of me. I , myself start injections this month that are pretty drastic and not something I wish on anyone. However, I do not want to see harmed by the side effects of these drugs. So far she is only on Celebrex which helps alot but her Dr has been strict with nothing else. She is in pain with joints. She exercises twice a day but it hurts. They say she has not progressed bad enough for light treatment. I keep thinking why must she progress far enough to have light treatment, should she not have light treatment to prevent it getting that bad. I wonder if its part of social medicine and paying for it. I have been thinking about buying our own light treatment and her using it at home. What do you think? I start her on 500 mg of chewable Vit D. I take it for my MS and read that it is also good for this disease. Well, that is my introduction. I am glad to be here. I hope perhaps I can be of some help since I have every disease , you name it (grin) several operations...my friends call me Dr. However, this one is new to me. So I am seeking your help. We are having our first sunny day of a few days of storm and even hail. Waving at everyone from Canada. R.
