Guest guest
Dee, My daughter is seven and has it in the same places that you do. That little piece of skin that is there by her ear has grown quickly, it is behind her ear on the left side and in both ears. There is a huge place at the base of her neck where the hair line starts. It looks like it is stretching to both her ears. She has a place on her forehead near her hairline. Both eyelids now have it, outer corners inner corners, under her left eye. The genital area is the worst for her, she for some reason has a scratching fit in the evening at bed time. Her left knee has it badly and her right calf has it to, just not so bad. Her nails are another story. I need to post a picture of her nails. She only has one finger out of the ten that looks normal. Her big toe on her right foot was pitting and waving, but it has stopped at that. One thing that is really curious to me is the " back side " . I am not sure what it is from, but she has these things that look like pimples, and they go down the back of her legs and can sometimes wrap into her inner thighs. They never quite go away but they do seem to get a little better. I guess that is when they come to a head and then crust over. She has had this for several months. I think I posted here a while back that I am worried about when the arthritis will come. She hypothyroidism and so I am waiting and watching. I took her to see a ped rheumy and she is not worried just yet. She mentioned seeing her back which would be next month, but I don't know if I will. She did give her naprosyn for any pains that she may have. A few nights ago she complained of hand pain for an hour, and has complained of the same hand off and on for the last couple of months. Her p started when she was three and it was on her scalp, and the spot it was at is gone and it hasn't come back there. Also, she has spots/dots under her arm pits and a few dots coming up on her sides on her back. She is a third generation psoriasis sufferer, but neither her dad or her grandad have ever had it as bad as she does. '
Guest guest
To All, I am sending an attachment of my daughter's hands and the worst place so far that the P is. She was complaining of knee pain in the other knee this morning but, she was also wearing her " high heels " to walk around outside yesterday. I thought that it looked a little strange in that knee, it almost looked as though her knee cap dropped a little. I tried to call my SIL to come look at it so I didn't think it was just me, but she refused.
Guest guest
, thank you for posting and sharing your daughters story. I'm so sorry she is suffering so much. Its a horrible thing to have, and very embarrassing. I have Hashimoto's, which is autoimmune hypothyroidism. Autoimmune diseases seem to go together don't they. You should stick with your daughters rheumy for a while and maybe tell her about the hand pains etc... and see what she says? Thanks again for sharing. dee
Guest guest
I would be very careful what you use on her becuse she is so young. Some of the meds like elidel and that sort of thing is so powerful and some are known to cause cancer especially in children . i have used just about everything . It is especially uncomfortable ,painful and itchy to have psoriasis . I have found st ives citrus body wash. helpful and use it as a shampoo also . It may take longer but it helps scalp psoriasis . if you use it regularly. Lately I have been using HEMPZ HYDRATING shampoo to wash my hair and use as a body wash . I love the stuff.I also use hempz lotion which is extremly mosturizing and smells great . It is extremly moiturizing and I have found it to be very helpful with my psoriasis . I use that in genital area and it relieves itching .. It is mild and the lotion stops the itching. Another thing that helps with scalp psoriasis is using village naturals salt scrub on scalp . It is inexpensive and will help immensly .[ Other things to try . Regular vaseline ..add 1 tube of[ over the counter] hydrocortiane cream to 1 cup of vaseline ,hydrolatum ,vanicream or aquaphor and apply to skin . This will help the itching .Mix with a plastic fork. put on after a bath or whenever u want. to get relief. Vanicream is a great lotion for eczema and psoriasis . You can get it on drugstore.com. You can also get vanicream soap there . mix with a plastic fork. cathy from ma [ ] Re: skin psoriasis Dee, My daughter is seven and has it in the same places that you do. Guest guest
I also forgot to tell you . If you use the village naturals salt scrub on scalp .. wash hair with a mild dandruff shampoo containing zinc oxide or neutragena shampoo. You can also use selsun blue naturals or head and shoulders dandruff shampoo. cathy from ma
