Guest guest
Hey guys I am wondering if anyone knows anything about doing a milk fast... Kind of crazy but I met two people in the past month who have been symptom free of lyme for years now by doing a milk fast. One had lyme for 7 years and the other was diagnosed much sooner but they are from two totally different crowds and they both swear by it! I think I am gonna give it a try... I will keep you all posted. peace and love From: Nikki <ncoleman@...> Subject: [ ] Naturopath Date: Friday, February 12, 2010, 7:38 AM  Hi we've used Dr Nicola McFazden (a medically trained naturopath, so she can prescribe abx). We've found her very very good. She uses abx, herbs, supplements, drops etc. She has an office in San Diego and Connecticut (she's just setting up the office there, I think she'll be doing consults there very soon, but she may have already started) & she does phone consults (she also does a visiting clinic in Australia once or twice a year). She has treated all my family for Lyme & we are really happy with her, she's give us some amazing results. She has a chapter in the book " Insights Into Lyme Disease Treatment: 13 Lyme-Literate Health Care Practitioners Share Their Healing Strategies " (which is a really good resource by the way - http://www.amazon. com/Insights- Into-Lyme- Disease-Treatmen t/dp/0982513801 She goes to all the conferences and is very up to date with the latest lyme disease research (which I like). Her website is here - http://www.drnicola .com/ She treats every person differently, doesn't use a one protocol fixes all (all 4 of us in our house were treated differently, with good success). Hope this helps Cheers Nikki
Guest guest
So does this just mean you cant drink any milk? I would think it would be a total dairy fast? Please let me know - as I have been told by my naturalist that we should eliminate all milk products out of our diet alone and would feel so much better - thanks for the info.. Guest guest
I just looked it up and the site I found said that you drink ONLY raw, whole, unpasteurized organic milk -- that there is a group who believe that Lyme is caused by psticides, not bacteria. Guest guest
Evidently, raw unpasteurized milk used to be used for medicinal purposes. It's loaded with natural Probiotics to kill the bacteria and raises the immune system. The problem is our govt. forces pasteurization for resale and it kills all the good stuff in the milk. So if you own your own cow your in luck otherwise you can find some farmers that will let you " buy in " on a cow and they charge a monthly or yearly fee and you get so many gallons a month. You can find them on the web. It's illegal to sell it raw because the govt thinks we are too stupid to decide what is good for our own health. Guest guest
You have to find a goat farmer and ask them if you can buy feed for trade with the milk. I did in college. It's the best milk ever! Lower in fat than cow and yummy. The kind on the grocery shelf tastes gross and it's pasteurized. Guest guest
This is very interesting to me. When I attended the ILADS conference last year I met a Dr. that swore by the Marshall Protocol which essentially entails starving the body of Vitamin D. He said that use of the blood pressure med, Benicar helps to do this. This Dr. said he was near death with TBI's before using this protocol. He added that Vitamin D " feeds " the bugs and makes a person feel better in the moment like sugar, but in the end does lots of harm. He said that if a person's Vit D levels test low, it's a sign of infection, not deficiency. This doc was quite frustrated at the conference given what he felt was the tendency to ignore means to address biofilm/cell-wall deficient bacterial issues. His opinion suggested that no abx currently exist to eradicate these completely, accounting for flares after what some have experienced as successful treatment. Of course diet is a big part of the Marshall Protocol and means avoiding foods that contain Vitamin D - like milk. Of course this is not meant to sound at all like medical advice. Like lots of other things Lyme, I'm sure it's riddled with controversy as well. Just thought I'd pass this little tidbit along. Initially I eliminated Vit D products and felt like poo (doc said this would happen as per the die-off) but after a while I felt better. Unfortunately I didn't stick with it long enough to see it through but may give it another whirl. Guest guest
No, you drink only unpasteurized organic whole milk (not sure cow or goat) while taking the herbs that I mentioned. And nothing else for 8 days. The herbs are a combination of a couple different things created by a Dr in CA.... I understand, I too have been on a gluten wheat dairy free diet. I really stuck with this for 6mos w/o any cheating. However, I don't notice much of a difference on the times I have cheated like for a holiday or whatever?? I know it is best to stick to that diet esp while taking the abx.

Guest guest
That sounds extremely dangerous considering all the research about how Vit. D deficiency causes cancer and bone loss etc. You might want to really research that before you do it. Please keep us posted as my homeopath has me on tons of it because it's always very low. Guest guest
I just want to add that when I owed a tanning salon and tanned maybe 3 times a week I had so much energy and my body was very healthy - when I became pregnant and stopped tanning is when all my health issues came tumbling back on me. I was ill for 10 years on and off then 6 years was not ill when tanning - and now 10 years ill again (bad) I wonder also if the electricity of the tanning beds in the salon helped in any way?? I am going to start tanning again and see what happens - I do know it took about a good month or two for my body to kick into having tons of energy when I first started tanning. Things to think about - but to me it would make more sense to have extra vit D in your body..........not I am even thinking about making my girls start tanning - not allot but some........thanks for every-ones input Diane ________________________________ From: Suzanne <suzlwilliams@...> Sent: Wed, February 24, 2010 7:53:11 AM Subject: Re: [ ] Milk Fast ?  That sounds extremely dangerous considering all the research about how Vit. Guest guest
There is a ligth bulb that I just found out about that you can get at the natural foods store that is similar to outside light and very helpful for people with seasonal depression. My friend had one in her bathroom because there weren't any windows and she said it was amazing and her plants thrived from it!! Some people just keep them in the lamps that they read near or whatever and they are only like 6 or 7 bucks!! > This is very interesting to me. Guest guest
I have heard of milk fasts before but by using raw milk. I believe in the 60s or 70s the Mayo clinic Used a raw milk fast on extremely sick people with excellent results. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Diane Biel Sent: Tuesday, February 23, 2010 5:56 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Milk Fast ? So does this just mean you cant drink any milk? I would think it would be a total dairy fast? Please let me know - as I have been told by my naturalist that we should eliminate all milk products out of our diet alone and would feel so much better - thanks for the info..
