Try calling around and asking different peds what their policy is.

Guest guest
I am new to all of this and a little (a lot!) overwhelmed! My six year old was diagnosed with lymes last week. Long story short, she has had knee pains that wake her up on a very regular basis for 2 - 3 years now, and no one really believed her or wrote it off as growing pains. She has been seeming more and more fatigued over the past few months, having trouble staying up past 7:00 - sometimes falling asleep earlier than that. About two years ago, she started having significant obsessive compulsive behaviors and was treated for seven months at University of Pennsylvania in Philly for OCD. She has also been sent to eye doctor because she has been having chronic headaches for years. Finally, we got the lyme disagnosis (which they are saying is accounting for the knee pains, fatigue and headaches - but, I am beginning to understand may also account for her anxiety disorder). Our pschychologist suggested that we go to a LLMD, as it seems that our daughter has had this for years untreated. I live in Lancaster County, PA - but would be happy to travel to Philly or Baltimore - or WHEREEVER to find a doctor to help her. Would I start at a rheumatologist or does someone have a suggestion? THANKS!!!
