Last Fall my rheumy wanted to start me on Remicade after having to

give me 4 cortisone shots in the shoulders and three in my right

foot. I asked for some time to think about it because Remicade kind

of scares me especially after a friend who is on it spent the

holidays in the hospital for a small infection that got way out of

control. Anyway, between that visit to the rheumy and the next one my

husband caught a cold and since he was snoring so badly, I started

sleeping on a mattress on the floor of the spare bedroom. After a

week of sleeping there, I woke up one morning and realized that the

pain in my shoulders had almost gone and the stiffness was completely

gone. I realized then that the difference was that I was able to move

when sleeping alone, something I couldn't do before because my

husband insists on the dog sharing our bed. I told my husband that I

couldn't sleep with the dog in the bed anymore, so he sleeps in the

queen size with his dog and I am still on my little mattress on the

floor. It doesn't say much for the state of my marriage to know that

my husband prefers to sleep with the dog, but I feel so much better

that I don't care. Needless to say, my rheumy was really amazed at my

progress and not only does he think that Remicade is no longer

necessary, but he might even lower my mtx dosage if this keeps up.

I think that not being able to move around in my sleep made my

shoulder joints rigid. It used to take about an hour for them to

unlock. Now I wake up, do some stretches in bed and I'm good to go!!!

Take care everyone,

Jocelyne

P.S. I don't post often, but I read every one of your posts.
