Guest guest
If you are not seeing a rheumatologist you really need to and if you are and he's ignoring it then you need to switch to a new one. Celeste
Guest guest
hi i have a rheumatologist now, since august, it was my own gp that has been ignoring me, so i went to see another one at my surgery and he is the one that told me what was wrong and has spent a lot of time explaining it too me and the methotrexate, probably if it wasnt for him i would be none the wiser of my condition, i have only seen my rheumatologist once and im due to go back in a few weeks to see him
Guest guest
I was diagnosed a few months ago and the disease had gotten pretty severe. Methotrexate seems to be the first drug they try you on. It did help the pain but did not stop the swelling and joint deformity for me. Everyone responds to all of the drugs differently, so you really just have to do some trial and error. It will be a slower process than what you want because it takes 2 or 3 months to see the full effect of the methotrexate. I just started on a biologic at the first of this month. It has helped tremendously. The side effects list is very long for all of the drugs that are available for this disease, but my uncle who is a Rheumy said this to me... " It is not the drugs that are the enemy, it is the disease. " So while there are a lot of side effects to monitor, if you do nothing, the damage the disease will do is far worse. Good luck! Hope you find releif soon.
