Guest guest
Daughter does not seem to tolerate many antibiotics. Bartonella treatment on hold for now. Doctor just put her on Doryx. What should we expect on this antibiotic.? Good or bad input appreciated.
Guest guest
my daughter got terrible headaches and sweating from doxy (low dose) and the doctor immediately dc'd the drug, the headaches could be a sign of intracranial pressure which is dangerous, we don't have many antibiotic choices either so I don't know where we'll go from here. thanks, michelle ________________________________ From: heb555 <heb555@...> Sent: Wed, December 1, 2010 1:09:44 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Doryx users  Daughter does not seem to tolerate many antibiotics. Guest guest
My daughters seem to tolerate most antibiotics okay. They did get very nauseous on Doxy so they were put on Doryx (slow release doxy) and they did okay. Guest guest
my daughter stopped getting bad side effects when she switched from doxy to doryx. The time release aspect seemed to help keep a lower but consistent amount in her bloodstream. ________________________________ From: / <win6060@...> Sent: Wed, December 1, 2010 1:29:25 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Re: Doryx users my daughter got terrible headaches and sweating from doxy (low dose) and the doctor immediately dc'd the drug, the headaches could be a sign of intracranial pressure which is dangerous, we don't have many antibiotic choices either so I don't know where we'll go from here. thanks, michelle ________________________________ From: heb555 <heb555@...> Sent: Wed, December 1, 2010 1:09:44 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Doryx users Daughter does not seem to tolerate many antibiotics. Guest guest
I also understood the doryx to be enteric coated so it was easier on the stomach. My daughter did not get much benefit from the oral doxy, though she tolerated the doryx, but the IV doxy gave her, her life back. She was on it for 1 1/2 years and it really kicked many of the coinfections she had plus the lyme. She is not 100% yet, but she is much better than pre IV Doxy. Good luck, On 12/1/2010 6:55 PM, Natasha Moiseyev wrote: > > my daughter stopped getting bad side effects when she switched from > doxy to > doryx.
