Guest guest
You might want to consider checking for MTHFR gene mutation via blood test and/or urine test. The way my doctor explains it, generally people who test positive have a harder time flushing toxins (getting rid of heavy metals) from their body and therefore are more susceptible to experiencing negative responses to vaccines and are usually more sensitive to environmental toxins. Someone with this gene mutation may be fine for several years, and eventually over time, due to this methylation problem start to build up heavy metals/toxins in their body and reach overload more easily. Get a vaccine at that point in your life, and bam, it's a huge hit to your immune system and likely will negatively impact all other systems in your body as well. I think it is important to know whether or not we and/or our children have this gene mutation, and if so, learn as much as we can about it and how it impacts us. I am only recently finding out about this and I have had several miscarriages that may have been attributed to it (among other things). Knowing this, I know that I have to work harder at detoxing my body than others may, and this is especially significant to know for someone with Lyme Disease. I also have to supplement with Methyl Folate and Methylcobalamin B12 (5,000 mcg) (sometimes 10,000 daily to keep levels up and prevent deficiency). These supplements have been life changing for me. Prior, I was experiencing severe vertigo that had me bed ridden for weeks, and poor brain function (beyond brain fog). Obviously, I still have Lyme, but at least I don't have problems with vertigo any more and am not putting the milk and cheese in the pantry with the cereal! For now at least (knock on wood)! I suspect not too many doctors know about this, over the years I have seen many, including a fertility specialist and it has never been addressed until my current doctors who diagnosed the Lyme. We just had my daughter tested (waiting for the results) as it is considered genetic and it was just a simple urine test for her. I have 2 daughters, 6 and 3 years old. I selectively/partially (and very slowly) vaccinated my 6 year old and she was recently diagnosed with Aspergers and has sensory processing disorder (currently testing for Lyme but started antibiotics because she has many symptoms), I saw direct correlations with her behavior and she was ill for weeks after each vaccine, so I finally decided to stop altogether (thankfully before her Kindergarten shots) she also had a negative reaction to the TB skin test. I too had always had negative reactions to vaccines, and now I know why. After seeing my 6 year old respond negatively, I decided not to vaccinate my 3 year old at all, didn't want to take any chances. If we are to make informed decisions, it is imperative that we have as much information as possible. Food for thought... . From: jenuhferr@... Probably not. Also, there is so much more toxic stuff in there, it's the last thing we need to put into our sick kids' bodies. I had a vaccine about 10 years ago when the Lyme was just starting to get me sick but I didn't know what it really was yet. I went from working to bedridden after the hep B within one month. Evil!!! This is the ingredient list of vaccines from the CDC: http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/pinkbook/downloads/appendices/b/excipient-table\ -2.pdf Did you know that the flu shot is only 20% effective admitted by the manufacturer? 80% of the flu viruses in circulation are NOT represented in the shot. Crappy odds for all those toxins IMO. I've never had a flu shot and I think I had a mild flu last year and that was the first time in so many years I couldn't remember. And my daughter was in preschool around all her sickly runny nosed classmates. Virus warnings would come home all the time. I also have done the same as Christa... We have not vaccinated my daughter since birth. Even with the Lyme she is actually sooo much healthier than her peers it's ridiculous but that is a common report among parents like us. Of course she is on antibiotics so in MY case I can't say anything about bacterial stuff but she never even catches viruses. She never misses school. She's never puked on me or had diarrhea or a high fever except during the onset of the Lyme at 2 years old (she's 5 now). Christa gave you some great links and yes, it is controversial which is so sad. Once a person gets really educated about what is going on (lying lying and more lies), there is no way they can vaccinate. Don't work and they're toxic. :/ Jen Lymie parents, 5yo Lymie/Aspie On 11/9/2010 10:14 AM, Christa Sherrod wrote: > > I have done a lot of vaccine research/earning over the past few years. > As far as I know, there are NO thimerosal free FLU vaccines in the > USA! Guest guest
Thank you everyone for your comments. that is fascinating because I do in fact have both MTHFR mutations, Lyme, metal toxicity, etc. And it went pretty much exactly as you said--years of flu shots go just fine and then bam! I'll never get one again. I found out I had MTHFR after I developed pre-eclampsia and delivered a 1 lb 6 ounce baby at 27 weeks. I was told not to have her tested because it could jeopardize her future ability to get insurance etc. but she has so many other things on her record I can't imagine this would make a big difference. I had no idea there was a urine test for it--is it as reliable as the blood test? Thanks so much!!! > > > > > > I have done a lot of vaccine research/earning over the past few years. > > > As far as I know, there are NO thimerosal free FLU vaccines in the > > > USA! Guest guest
My doctor seems to be pretty informed and knowledgable about labs and their differences, we recently were at the lab and the tech asked if we wanted a urine test instead of blood to try and minimize the draw (we are going back for our third blood draw this coming monday because we couldn't do everything on the same 1 requisite all at once) so I called my doctor about it and she said no - stating is was not as accurate as blood (I can't remember what it was for, but maybe zinc magnesium or manganese all of which I was also deficient in). We are also testing for food allergies and she gave me the option of two labs (Meridian Valley and Great Plains) and informed me that Great Plains accepts my insurance however their tests may not be as accurate as Meridian Valley. She explained why, though I can't remember exactly and only remember she mentioned something about Meridian Valley accounting for environmental factors that Great Plains wasn't as successful in doing. I still opted for Great Plains since we are on a budget and she thought it would be a good starting point especially since my ins. will cover it. I also asked her about using LabCorp vs. Quest (both covered by my insurance, but Quest is a very short drive from my home and also usually less crowded and thus quicker), and she explained that she preferred LabCorp for certain things and why (of course that information too I can't remember - I am often on information overload during our appts.) and she also likes to use the lab at Marin General for certain things. Anyway, I trust that she has a great deal of experience (whether personal or passed down) with various labs and a variety of methods, (swabs, hair, urine, serum), she is also colleagues with many of the well known LLMD's in the bay area. . Guest guest
My daughter was just tested for this mutation (and a zillion other things) by her DAN LLMD doctor (she has lyme induced autism) and she was negative. But, the doc already knew Lyme was the cause because she is completely unvaccinated. My question is.. is this gene dominant or recessive? If she is negative, does that mean BOTH my husband and I are negative by default? I got very ill after a hep B vaccine but I also had undiagnosed Lyme which became severe as a result... Thanks, Jen Lymie parents, 5yo Lymie/Aspie
