Guest guest
Hi Steve, While that might work for you, there are many that are so incapacitated the even walking is a challenge, let alone playing hockey or going to the gym. I respect your decision to not take drugs but, I'd warn you that joint damage is a possibility. Ibuprofen, might help to give you temporary relief, but it won't stop joint deterioration. Once joint deterioration sets in, you might be left with limited choices. Stay Well,
Guest guest
Steve: I hope you're not sorry later about the decision you've made. I think we all are worried about the side effects of some of the drugs we're taking but when they make you feel so much better, I doubt that many have any regrets. I am on Enbrel and it has - at least so far - been a Godsend for me. I have been on it for a little over a year and have not had even so much as a cold. In fact, this is the first winter in about ten years that I haven't had an upper respiratory infection. I also just noticed - and this one is really weird - that the stuffy nose I typically have starting in late August or early September from bad sinuses has not yet appeared. And when I say " stuffy " , I mean I literally cannot breathe out of my nose unless I'm on a steroidal inhaler and something like Zyrtec D. So, I guess it's an added bonus that I haven't seen it yet this year - but darned if I can figure out why and how Enbrel could be both helping my PsA but at the same time actually enhancing at least some part of my immune system!!!!. Guest guest
You are lucky that you can still have a good quality of life without medications. It sounds like your disease is well controlled. There are many of us that would not be able to function and would not be able to move without our medication. You should consider yourself lucky to have your disease managed with minimal drugs. Just pay attention to your body and listen to your joints. If it gets worse, seek medical attention this disease can really destroy your joints. " Sheridan " <sksherid@...>
