I have been suffering from painful arthritis in the hands & knees for

several years and cannot take glucosamine because I am allergic to

seafood and also react badly to the preservatives in cortisone

products. For the last seven months I have been using thermomedic

thermal gloves & knee body bands with much success. I can now use my

computer without the aching fingers & hands I was getting after about

10 minutes. Who else has found these thermomedic therapy garments are

really working for them? I'd be really keen to know if anyone has used

their thermal back support?

Hi! Glucosamine is not expected to help PA anyway - it is only shown

to help osteoarthritis, which has a different disease mechanism from

the inflammatory arthritis diseases. Have you been diagnosed with

psoriatic arthritis? If so, compression or heat therapy might help

alleviate some pain but will NOT prevent possible irreversible joint

damage. When my hands were very swollen I tried compression gloves to

see it that would help me be more comfortable; they did not work for me.

In general, heat does not help my pain much. Ice or cold packs work

much better for my joint pain. The doctors recommend alternating heat

and cold. But my inflamed joints are already hot from inflammation and

the cold packs just seem to give me much more relief.

Hi Wongj93,

Natural supplements and natural therapies are good to use in attempts

to alleviate your pain, HOWEVER, from what I have read, most folks only

experience a lessening of their symptoms through regular drug protocols.

Prior to my diagnosis, I did try Glucosomine & Chomdrotine for about 6

months with ZERO effect.

Stay Well,
