I too was around for his administration and it is my understanding that his

advisors felt that if they released this information to the public during

wartime,people would lose their confidence in his ability to lead .Their actions

were in error but their intentions were honorable

it is unfortunate but i have heard people say they would not have voted for him

had they known. i think it just speaks to peoples attitudes about this. marylou

I had polio in the summer of `1948. Most of the kids that were in the

hospital with me either died or were crippled. President Roosevelt had

this same disease. He rose in spite of it to be a great president. I

wish we had a man like that today.
