Hi Everybody...I am newly diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. I have had the

joint, tendon and ligament pain for about 4 years before I had the first signs

of psoriasis. While healing from a pretty severe skin infection I broke out head

to toe..literally, with plaque and guttate psoriasis. It has been almost 3 weeks

now and it is just now starting to clear up a little. My legs look horrible:( I

was on Humira for 3 years for the severe joint pain until it stopped working and

then my rheumy put me on Remicade. I have had 5 infusions and don't see much

improvement at all - and I was on it when the flare-up started. The questions I

have are:

1) Do those of you with psoriatic arthritis have a dermatologist and a

rheumatologist or just one? If just one, then which one?

2) Has anyone heard of Dr. Alan Menter? He is the President of the International

Psoriasis Council and supposedly one of the leading researchers/physicians of

psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. He is local to me in Dallas and have an appt.

next month. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions about him.

3) What is Dovonex?

4) If any of you are on Remicade how long did it take to work?

5) Since I just had my first flare-up I don't know how long it usually takes to

clear up. I know it probably varies but I would love to hear your experiences.

Sorry this is so long. Just a little overwhelmed with how I look and feel going

into summer. Definitely not sporting the bathing suit/shorts body right

now...ughhh!!

Thanks for any input any of you may have.

Thanks,

Francine
