Hi I have been on Enbrel and I am currently taking Remicade my cost

the only thing I had to do was use my insurance company's mail order

dept they sent 4 pre filled needles a month I was very lucky and only

had to pay $15 a month with BCBS of NJ I am now on Remicade and I pay

$30 an infusion wich is my office copay the Enbrel worked great for me

in the beginning until I became allergic to it now I am waiting for

the Remicade to start wroking. Good luck and take care LINDA

I've been on Enbrel now for 7 months. I never thought I'd be looking forward

to injecting myself weekly with a recombinate protein extracted from a chinese

hamster ovary, but this stuff works! Combined with Taclonex ointment, I am free

of all my previous symptoms and am wearing shorts and short sleeve shirts again.

The downside is these drugs are expen$ive. I have Aetna and my monthly co-pay is

$20 for each prescription but I am forced to use the mail order pharmacy because

a 4 pack of 50 mg Sure Click injectors is over $1800 and a 60 gm tube of

Taclonex is just under $500. I was advised by my pharmacist that there was very

little price difference between Sure Click and regular syringes so I just get

the Sure Clicks since my insurance doesn't seem to mind one way or the other...

Based upon what I went through, $800 seems a little on the cheap side but

maybe you've been prescribed a smaller dose (I'm 6'3 " 220 lbs).

Good luck with your treatment!

I use Caremark specialty pharmacy...They require that because my presription

benefit is thru Caremark and if I had to pay full price for a month's supply it

would be right at $1400.00...I am very fortunate in that I don't have to pay

near that. I don't know the price of Remicade but am getting switched soon as

the Enbrel has fizzled out on me for some reason.

I hope that you are able to get relief soon.

Hi ,

I have had PA for about 5 years now and I have used Enbrel for the

past 4 years. This should be the price for a months supply, which

is 4 syringes and 4 vials. They should all come in one box.

Hope this helps you.

I have just been diagnosed with PA and my doctor wants to put me on

Embrel, though right now the insurance company is balking because

they consider it a " step " drug, i.e. so expensive they want you to

try cheaper alterantives first; so I don't know how this will all

turn out. However, you take Embrel typically once a week and my

guess is that the $819 price you were quoted was for one week -

without insurance. I was told by the person who's handling my appeal

to the insurance company that Remicade can be cheaper because it is

given in the hospital and insurance companies tend to pick up more of

the cost. I'm on Medicare and have a Medicare RX policy so it's

different than normal private insurance. I called my rx insurer to

taks how much it would cost and got an answer ($375/month) but that

sounds awfully low and she told me she wasn't sure and to check with

my pharmacist. I tried but until I have an authorized rx, the

computer program they use won't spit out a price.
