Hi All,

I am 50 years old and I was diagnosed with PsA about 3 months ago.

Started with a swollen ring finger-didn't do anything about it for

months. Went to the orthopedist, got a cortisone shot, and was sent to

the rheumatologist. No skin involvement so I was shocked with the

diagnosis. My grandmother did have psoriasis, however. During this

time, my right foot became so sore there were times I almost couldn't

walk. Cried a lot because I can't do the things I could previously, and

I do not want to limp for the rest of my life. The rheumy started with

just Mobic, but the foot pain still would not go away. I am now one

month in on mtx. Still having foot pain-got an appt. with the rheumy

Thursday-but I really don't want to take medication that is so toxic. I

have been doing research about the role of diet in easing PsA symptoms.

I am wondering if any of you have had success with this and if so, what

did you do? I have read what Dr. Weil and Dr. McDougal

recommend-basically a vegan diet. Several month prior to being

diagnosed, I gave up meat because of the inhumane treatment of the

animals in CAFOs, so that part isn't a problem. I think it would be

worth making these big dietary changes if it would help get the pain

under control. Thank you in advance for taking time out of you day to

reply.
