Flare in the ribcage

Hi all,

I started having twinges of pain in my chest on the right side Friday evening

last. Over the weekend it got worse until I got up yesterday (Monday) and

decided I had to see my family doctor. And of course my doctor wasn't in the

office and wouldn't be back until Thursday. So I spent the afternoon in the ER

being stuck numerous times for blood work and having a bunch of ex-rays done.

Ex-rays showed clear lungs and the normal spurs on my ribs I have had for a

couple of years now. Blood work showed no infection, either viral or bacterial.

But it showed inflammation in excess. (I did tell the doctor I had PsA and he

did look at the swollen joints I have.) His conclusion was I was having a flare

in the right side of my ribcage.

Does anyone else have this type thing going on? What can I expect from now on?

Will I continue to keep having flares in this area from now on? Or is it a

sometime thing like with the other joints? I have a call in to my rheumy's

office (he is in a city 75 miles away and I have no vehicle to go down there

right now) but so far I've heard nothing. I'll probably have to call everyday

for a week to get a response finally. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The ER doc gave me a weeks supply of naproxen to take twice a day for

inflammation but didn't want to give me any more due to having digestive issues

right now.

Gentle hugs,

Dalene
