Guest guest
Welcome Libby, I am surprised that neither the pred nor mtx took the ps away. I did not have that much ps, mostly was on my scalp, but when I was on pred it started going away, and then when I started the mtx, it all went away. I finally weined myself off the prednisone but sometimes wonder if I shouldn't start it again. I hated the way if had me all puffed up. I also have fibromyalgia and nothing so far helps with that pain. Glad you are here and sorry you need to be. You will find lots of friends here and lots of different reactions to the same drugs and treatments. You then can draw your own conclusions. God Bless. Guest guest
Hi Libby We take the same cocktails(g). I believe enbrel is known to work better on the arthritis component than the skin, some folks have changed from Enbrel to Humira to get better skin control. Since you had such a positive reaction to antibiotics, maybe you would like to investigate the Antibiotic Protocol (AP)treatment? I don't have the references close at hand ( I'm not on this personally ), but I'm sure someone here will pipe up and provide. My bet is you would have a good response. Although I'm 60-70% better and very thankful for it, I still get mild to moderate flares and an occasional skin patch - have this one stubborn spot on my nose that must really love steroid cream(g). Best regards -

Guest guest
Backstory: I have had PA for about 7 years and psoriasis for 17. The PA appeared after my 7 year old was born. I was able to get my symptoms under control and go into a remission of sorts until I had a baby 4 months ago. I have had a terrible flare up and now my psoriasis which was only on my scalp and ears is now spreading everywhere! I have spots on my arms and legs and back. I am wondering how well you all think Enbrel works on the pain and if it helps with the psoriasis and if anyone has any suggestions on controlling the psoriasis. I am having to wear long sleeves everyday and don't know what I'll do when it starts getting warmer if I can't control this. Just wanted some advice before heading back to the rheumy. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi, I am exactly like you plus -2-. 27 years. Enbrel did not help me at all. Neither with pain, nor with psoriasis. But as you know, every body reacts in its special, specific way. I wish it will do you better. I left Enbrel behind me. Arie

Guest guest
Hi, You may have to get a cream or one of those special lamps used for depression, for the red spots in the winter but in summer please expose these spots to the sun for very short periods as the sun will help get rid of them. I tried Enbrel and had a very bad reaction, but it really did help with the pain, lack of energy, and psoriasis. Keep an eye on the injection spot and if you see anything that doesn't look right let your doctor know immediately. Some people take glucosamine tablets or other things from a health food store for arthritis -- your choice. You may want to use goats milk soap or at least something along that line. You can buy soap with tar in it from the US if you are interested. You probably already know about the special shampoos available. Lastly, please remember your family and friends will still love you with or without red spots, so as a last resort spend your valuable time thinking about them and don't worry about the spots. One last item -- you may want to keep an eye on your kids because psoriasis/arthritis is hereditary and most of the time shows in the teen years. Good luck and keep in touch.
