Guest guest
detox and bartonella treatment will decrease the headaches. We all had those -- the icepick in the head feeling -- and it has subsided for all of us with treatment. But in the meantime I have found that drinking the lemon juice in water detoxes fast. It's not a direct thing for the migraines but it does help all symptoms. Know that as you are in treatment you will notice it going away. So sorry you are having to deal with this. Green tea and licorice root tea may also help. ________________________________ From: Debbie <sndbart@...> Sent: Mon, January 24, 2011 3:46:51 PM Subject: [ ] Any relief for the headaches??? Hi - I too am new to the list. My daughter (8) was diagnosed and tested positive for lyme, and bart in October 2010. We think she has had lyme for 3 years. We lived on a property that was covered in ticks in the Okanagan area of BC, and have since moved to town. We are also seeking treatment in the States from a LLND and are very frustrated at how the Canadian Medical system refuses to acknowledge long term treatment of Lyme disease!.... My daughter has just recently begun suffering with intense headaches of migraine proportion and as is typical with lyme, none of the over the counter meds offer any relief. Has anyone had any luck with anything else??? We have tried an essential oil blend called " peppermint halo " in the forehead and temples. It provides a nice distracting burning sensation but that is about it if the headache is really bad. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
I have gotten migraines too all my life and have tried every remedy. I don't know if mine were from the Lymes or not but I discovered 2 things that helped me. As I got older I realized that I hold fluid in my inner ear or my upper sinuses, not in my nose, and it helps my migraines to take a decongestant. I know that sounds crazy but all the migraine drugs in the world do nothing for me including Rx's. So you could always try it, Mucinex DM or Guaifenesin will loosen up pressure in all the sinuses so the pain drugs can work better. Otherwise, the only thing that ever gave me relief was valium (muscle relaxer/ antidepressant). Good luck, Suzanne On Jan 24, 2011, at 5:46 PM, Debbie wrote: > Hi - I too am new to the list. Guest guest
Petadolex! I suffered years with migraines and my naturopath gave me Petadolex and after taking this supplement for 60 days I rarely get headaches anymore. It has a herb in it called butterbur and it really helps. I also had relief from OTC migraine medicine (acetominophen/aspirin/caffeine combo) but not always, but when it worked it was a relief and worth the try. You can read about Petadolex on www.petadolex.com  From: Debbie <sndbart@...> Subject: [ ] Any relief for the headaches??? Guest guest
My daughter had the headaches and her neurologist (who never did manage to diagnose the Lyme, but did suggest that 'whatever she had' was giving her some variation on migraines) suggested giving her vit. B2 (riboflavin) 200 mg a day. It did seem to help though the stuff is awful tasting -- had to grind it up and put it in very strong tasting chocolate pudding and even then it was not that appealing. I've tried it for my own migraines and if I take it every day it does help to prevent them. My daughter's headaches used to be constant (you couldn't touch her anywhere on her head or on her upper body) and she also experienced a lot of internal head pressure. Now she mostly seems to experience smaller focal headaches that come and go -- and seem to happen when treatment is working for her, so some sort of herx thing now maybe. > > > Hi - I too am new to the list.
