Guest guest
Hello all, especially those discussing teens/youth with Lyme -- It is just horrendous that this suffering, and the challenges of coping. Sometimes it just hits me again how absolutely horrible it is - how amazingly resilient you all can be, and how very much we need LEGISLATIVE action in this state. I am chair of LymeActionPA - if you are in PA - please take note -- we started this all volunteer state-wide coalition of Lyme support and advocacy groups last year as part getting Lyme legislation passed in PA. 1) If you need doctors, you can email: _montcolyme@..._ (mailto:montcolyme@...) or _lymepa@..._ (mailto:lymepa@...) .. You can also call LDASEPA, (not toll free) at 610-388-7333. They do a fabulous job of doctor referrals. Also - please do NOT name doctors in writing here - there are many reasons why doctors names treating Lyme longer-term should not be publicly " out there " . Email privately with names. 2) If you have not already been added to the LymeActionPA email list, please go to _www.lymeactionpa.com_ (http://www.lymeactionpa.com) - and click on the " add me to your email list " link. And, if you can document and share your story, or your child's, please do - we are collecting these and using them with Senators/Representatives -they are very impactful. You can email to _lymeactionpa@..._ (mailto:lymeactionpa@...) . We have 3 kids in my family affected - these stories, your stories need to be documented and told. 3) For anyone that has been tracking PA Senate Bill #1199 - we got a positive response but NO ACTION - due primarily to the insurance provision, and the very short session this fall (3 weeks) due to elections -- noone wants to be involved in anything " controversial " . We need to gear up for FAST ACTION for next year -- WHAT WE NEED ARE PEOPLE WILLING TO STAY CLOSELY CONNECTED AND IN THEIR SENATORS/REPRESENTATIVES FACES. We need to have more PEOPLE talking to their legislators and getting in front of them - we had a great showing at the 6/22/10 public hearing, but after that not enough. And - if you have any personal political connections, we NEED them - this made the difference in other states. Contact me at _montcolyme@..._ (mailto:montcolyme@...) if you do. Thank you - let's join together and make this issue HEARD and acted on. The education and physician protection parts of the bill got a good response - insurance will be the tough part, and we need your VOICE and data! - Wagner, Chair LymeActionPA, _montcolyme@..._ (mailto:montcolyme@...)
