Guest guest
My patience is lessening and the pain is still unbearable after 10 days of the prescribed prednisone dose. I started with 40mg for 2 days and decreased by 5mg each day until I got to 5mg daily. The prednisone did help with the psoriasis in my ears on my face and hands. There are only small patches on a few fingers. The inflammation is far from gone in my hip, neck and knees. I am trying not to lose my mind in regards to the pain. I do use both ice and heat to help with pain and inflammation the heat seems to work best for me today. My rheumy tells me I must take it easy! I am trying not to do too much and I do have a day of rest planned for tomorrow. Will be talking with rheumy on Monday. Open for suggestions from any of you who have experienced utter discomfort and fear from this illness. Guest guest
Have you talked with the doctor about a steroid shot to get over the hump? It is usually the fastest acting for relief. Doesn't make it all go away, but does give a little more relief. I just went through this last month. Had the worst inflammation ever and psoriasis outbreak too. She finally gave me one to hold me over. I have had them in the past too. I also agree that you need a daily pain med. I am hoping for different pain med myself. Vicodin seems to be the favorite around here. Any one taking anything different? Joyce
