Many in the Gulf war consumed gallons of soda pop sweetened with

aspartane which breaks down into formic acid and methyl alcohol

which in turn will create formaldehyde and attacks the nerve system

( Gulf war syndrome???????).

Re: Myasthenia Gravis

Carl

I am sure that by now you have got all the info on MG. I have had a few pts

with it but the most interseting was a pt who was dx'd with it after the

first gulf war. He started off with flu s/s then fatigue and when it was

full

bore the only real s/s was he would lose control of eye mvmnt and start

getting double vision. The army docs figured it out and he leads a fairly

normal life except that he has to watch his activity level, if he goes to

hard for a few days it usually takes about a week of rest to catch up. I

dont

think this one fell under the " Gulf War " syndrome pts bbecause it was dx'd

and tx'd but have not heard of any others getting MG after the war. What

alot

of people didn't hear was ALL of the soldiers were vacinated for a variety

of

conditions and situations. The kicker is that alot of these vaccines were

not

approved by the FDA so these vacines were not administered on US soil, alot

of the soliers did not get vaccinated untill they were in Kuait hmmm...kind

of makes you wonder!

I haven't weighed myself in a loooooooong time. Maybe you're right though.

There is a particular article of clothing that feels a little snug but I've

Yes...a few years ago I took a week out from work and drank 2

scandishakes a day. I gained 10 lbs. and happily went back to work. At

work I noticed how weak I was (could barely lift a few sheets of

paper). I thought maybe my sma was progressing but I figured out it was

the extra weight. After awhile I must have gained my strength back

because I eventually did the things I was doing before the weight gain.

I did not drink supplements but did double my weight in 99. It has severely

affected my strength. I cannot do even half of what i was doing then b/c my

muscles cannot handel the extra weight. i was also in an extreme rehab program

to try to gain what i lost and only gained a few fuctions, such as typing,

sitting, and moving in my chair. i know most of u r not looking to dbl ur

weight but that was my exp.

Kimi, I am the same way. I just gained 20 pounds within the last 8

months (nearly 1/3 of my previous weight) without eating the shakes

and have seen a significant weakness. I am no longer transferring on

my own. I have a harder time lifting my arms to my face to put on

makeup, whereas I was able to pull a shirt over my head before the

weight gain without help. I can't brush my own hair since gaining. I'm

not standing on my own without assistance. I can't lift so many things

or even bend over as far (little belly!).

I expected becoming weaker when gaining. My doctor told me it was the

one thing he was worried about when I told him I wanted to gain

weight. For me, it's worth the compromise. I'm healthier and have a

better chance of fighting off illnesses. I look great, can fill out

clothing, shop in normal women's sections, and I feel more womanly and

beautiful having curves instead of being boney. It's a choice we have

to make, deciding between feeling good & being healthy and maintaining

our strength a little longer.

This is an interesting subject for me too.. I weighed about 58-63 lbs most of

my life until about 2 years ago.. I don't really know why I was finally able to

gain some weight except that I really tried to increase my calorie intake. I

also eat at night after I go to bed. Yogurt and cookies or cheese crackers, now

I have been eating peanut butter at night. Anyway I am 56 years old now and

since gaining the 15- 20 lbs I am much weaker. I never really noticed any

progression of my strength for all those years (my onset was before birth but I

am diagnosed as type 3) It used to be really easy to transfer to the toilet or

my bed but now it seems to take everything I have. I can just barely sit up

from the bed when I get up and since I have live-in PA I have her pull me up to

sitting. I still do it myself every once in a while just to know that I still

can. I figured that the transferring has to do the the extra weight but now

that you guys are experiencing a similar weakness

associated with weigh gain, I at least know it's not just me. Thanks for

sharing.

Kendra,

I didn't really want to gain this much weight but I can't seen to lose enough

to gain some strength. I think it's been so long that I will never regain my

abilities. Sometimes it's frustrating when I know 5 yrs ago I could transfer

to bed, brush my teeth, put on make up, comb my hair, crawl, write, etc, esp

when it comes to things concerning my bf and I. I always say if only we met

You can apply for social security disability at your local office. Then, when

they send you a letter rejecting you, you need to get a lawyer for the appeal

process. My lawyer is going to take 25% of the back pay when it's settled. But

people say that without one, you never win. My lawyer just told me that my court

date is a year away (if I was

appearing in the city of St. Louis-it would be 18 mos.) I was hoping for the

Medicare insurance (just incase my husband was laid off or something and I was

ready for a transplant).

I know what you mean about the energy level and weakness. I can't lift anything

like I used to. A trip to Walmart and the grocery store wears me out. Today, I

go to my primary care for a follow up-I've had double pneumonia for a week. I am

worse than I was so I will probably be admitted to the hospital. Haven't stayed

in a hospital since '97. I just want to get rid of this.

Hope my experience with social security is helpful. The number of forms you

fill out to

appeal is a lot of fun, if you have any problems with confusion. I was in

tears..

Dear Bee,

thanks for your answer! I am hanging in there. Yesterday I felt 100x better

after a hot shower, it must have helped to take some toxins out. Even the

anxiety disappeared. I'm almost completely convinced my anxiety is candida toxin

related and not psychological since I never had it 5 years ago. This diet has

done miracles for me. The anxiety only flares up when I try to make changes

(like now) or am going through a die-off. Sometimes my mind tries to play tricks

on me and say things like it is all in your head, you don't have candida, you

are a hypochondriac etc etc.. but then i just have to look through my notes (I

have written all my symptoms down and graded them on a scale from 1 to 10, so it

is easy to see what changes my body has undergone in just one and a half months)

and feel strong again :)

I got migraine for days also when i quit coffee or every time I started low carb

diet. I know it is withdrawal/die-off but it is so hard to function, go to work

and do other things when that happens. Oh well, it is worth it.

Best!

Ivanda

==>Hi Ivanda. Fatigue and migraines are a couple of the numerous

die- off/healing/ detoxifying symptoms you can experience. See the

article " Fatigue & Candida " ;

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/treat10.php

Also your body will be retracing, or re-experiencing all past

symptoms, illnesses, diseases, malfunctions, injuries, operations,

etc., etc., including feeling the affects of any drugs, anesthetics,

novacaine or other toxins as the body is detoxifying them. At the

same time you will go through many emotional ups and downs. This

article might help you understand better what is happening...

So relieved. I guess body needs to adjust to such changes, but now it seems to

be happy to run on the good fats. So I'll give it a go.

Cheers!

I always believed that to recover we need to approach the problem from

all possible angles: physically, mentally and spiritually :) In fact,

I am having fun in the process, it's like my own personal project and

I am very motivated to see it through.

I read the information on anxiety and other mental issues. Makes a lot

of sense to me. Thanks again, Bee. This group you created is truly God

Hi there. What is your name please? Feeling weak, lethargic and

fatigued is part of the healing process, caused by candida being killed

off, which is called die-off symptoms. In addition it takes time for

your body to switch over from running on carbs to running on good fats,

and in the meantime it may cause symptoms.

To understand more about healing/die-off reactions see this article:

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal2.php

Also see this article " Fatigue and Candida " ;

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/treat10.php

The eggs aren't totally raw in my egg drink, since boiling water is

added which quickly turns the egg whites to white, which means they are

cooked. This drink is more like a " smoothie " and you certainly won't

notice it starts with raw eggs.

Hang in there. Such symptoms will come and go as your body heals.

The best in health, Bee

Sorry, my name is Rose.. I sent you a message to your personal email

already but I do have other questions...If I have low blood sugar will

this diet make those symptoms worse too since I am having no or very

little carbs?

I use my coconut oil daily @3 TBS so far. I also added some Raw garlic

plus I take C, B-complex, Bio E gamma Plex, omega 3 and calc/mag

citrate supplements. No A or D yet. Is that a problem? Also my

probiotic is 50 billion ! Is that too much to start with?

Again, thanks for all your help!
