Guest guest
For what it's worth: here's a success story. I had no optimism regarding my child's health. I had been to every health agency. I had tried every alternative health practice. Everyone told me I was crazy and it was all in my head. All I knew was my mothering instinct told me that someithing was terribly wrong. My child had joint pain, eye pain, chest pain, abdominal pain, constant burning urination, no appetite, fatigue, mood swings, depression and suicidal thoughts (at three and four years old). I was desperate. I didn't know what was wrong. Even her father accepted that she was a " blue " person. I knew something else was going on. Within 10 days of beginning treatment, she became a different person. Now after a year of treatment for lyme and babeosis, she is still changing radically. She has new energy to run across the yard, and the bravery to go outside herself, which she never did before. Knowing what I know now, I would do anything to acheive this health success for her, but in the throws of her illness, I did try many things to no avail. The most important thing I think as a parent or as a patient is to believe in yourself. If you feel something, it's real. You are your own best advocate and barometer. Guest guest
AMEN Catskill!!! exactly--follow your heart and gut instinct--maybe instead of " optimism " we should urge " committment " a " stick-to-it-ness " to keep going until solutions are found. A good skill to learn in all life's endeavors!!! Kids today are prone to give up if too hard, they cant see a goal if too many steps or if too long away. We adults often become impatient too--especially if about our own children--we want things well or correct--and we want it NOW. Living each day the best one can while " not giving up " is far better than trying to paint a rosy picture or saying " this will get better " ---maybe saying " we will not stop and whatever this day hands me, I will deal with it " . I am SO glad your family is doing better--I wish your child ?a permanent remission!!!! and a long life of health and happiness for your daughter!!!
