Guest guest
My daughter has been treated for MF. She was on Rifampin for 3 months, went off of it for 6 months, had further symptoms (mostly anxiety) and we put her back on Rifampin for 2 more months. She seems to be doing OK now. Dr. J said its very elusive and hard to treat. Did you get a positive test from MDL? My daughter tested positive the first time, negative after the first tx but because of symptoms returning we went ahead and treated her again, which helped and we're hoping its totally gone now. --- Patty Belke <pbelke1@...> wrote: > Hi all, > > We recently got a positive blood test back for my > son for Mycoplasma Fermentans and the research I've > done on it has been confusing. Guest guest
We did not get a positive test from MDL - that's where it was tested originally but they've switched labs because of concerns that they were not getting any positive results in the last couple of years and found out MDL switched to using robotics which seemed to effectiveness of the test. My son was put on Minocycline (along with the zythromax he's been on for a long time). I hope your daughter is better now and thanks for your response. Guest guest
For Myco: Evan was " fine " after spending toddlerhood with many starnge sx and infections and gastric hyperacidity, for many years until around age 13. Then sx grew and I knew he was probably gestational Lyme ( I was 8 mo preg when MY sx started and wasnt dx until months later). so I took him to my LLMD--?anyway he was pos for Myco alone and was put on Zithro for 3 weeks followed by doxy 4 weeks--thats was 5 yrs ago--( both cover Myco and Lyme) -he became sx free for about a year then it all started--a domino effect of Lyme and Bart and all other sx too but since then his Myco has been neg.and since then he has been on every herbal and abx combo etc and hasnt gotten better except for a brief few months while on IV IGG--so we think he has immune complications too from a few protocol sites re Myco Treatment is usually Doxycycline, Minocycline, Azithromycin, Clarithromycin, or Ciprofloxacin and these may also be effective against Lyme hope this helps Finette Re: [ ] Mycoplasma Fermentans We did not get a positive test from MDL - that's where it was tested originally but they've switched labs because of concerns that they were not getting any positive results in the last couple of years and found out MDL switched to using robotics which seemed to effectiveness of the test. Guest guest
do you think that making him be on the antibiotics --made the immune systemj worst as the antibiotics killed some of the good bacteria.. That is what happened to me .i got 6 month antibiotics for aother reason and in 1 year I had lyme and co-infections comming up. Also my llmd said for my husband not to take antibiotics even though he came up positive on IGENEX..as it will ruin his immune system .... That is my feeling -as since I took 6 month antibiotics --i got worst and worst..after that and i recall mt pain on my digestive track ..was geting worst .. Patty Belke <pbelke1@...> wrote: Thanks! Guest guest
there is alwasy a balance between getting an infection under control and keeping the body the least harmed by the treatment--NO,the abx didnt " make " the immune system problem-?in case his immune issues were inborn/genetic...and Ive been on and off abx for YEARS and MY immune system seems unaffected (knock wood) sometimes after abx and you treat another infection the body's immune system " wakes up " and recognizes the Lyme and starts to fight it and then your sx increase--a good thing!!--there is no way yet to tell if this is the case OR if youre weaker and so Lyme is worse. as for your husband IF he gets any sx it would be foolish to ignore them--even if all you do is herbal or alternative tx---the TBDs can wreak havoc left alone and being scared of a few side effects of abx is nothing when compared to permanent brain and heart and nervous system damages from leaving it untreated!! Guest guest
what inborn/genetic means ? Are our children worst b/c they war born with it My son has the same issue I am afraid . just a curiosity -i did a QXCI test -and to me showed TICK BORNE DISEASE -lyme For my son came up as SYPHILIS - The person that did the test did not know about our problems-i wanted to see how true are this metods -so I tried .And she said that my immune system is still fighting -his has been shut down Is that possible that they were borne with it -thier immune system does not recognize them anymore WE WERE BITTEN IN BACKYARD AGAIN -covered in rashes and pimples --many time s-the Dr had no clue-it was alergy -were told .-and sent home with creams . Guest guest
inborn or genetic means that you start life with a set of circumstances--but those can change depending upon diet and environment youre exposed to.it might mean a low IGG Evan seems to have started his life with a weak immune system based upon blood tests when he was a child- BUT that could have been due to my being pregnant when I got Lyme--no way to tell. some people--kids and adults--will have harder times with many illnesses depending on their make-up--what they start with. Ever notice how some get over colds quickly while others get bronchitis?? even if they both eat well and take vitamins?? some may have weaker lungs or immune systems I wouldnt trust anything that test showed ( and syphilis is a spirochete like Borrelia--cause of Lyme--but not the same) if you like you can email me so we dont take up others' readintg time here finrussak@...
