Guest guest
Hi all, I am the proud parnet of two cildren. My daughter Kristi, 22, recently graduated from nursing school magna cum laude. We didn't find out about the honor until right before the graduation ceremony which really made her day! The whole last semester she dispaired of even graduating and it took a lot of encouragement to convince her she would make it. Now she is waiting for notifacation she can take the nursing boards in Oklahoma. You would think with the nursing shortage like it is, thay would be getting the testing done as quick as possible! My son Sam, 19, recently completed the EMT couse and passed the National Registry Exam. He is a volunteer EMT with the fire department in the town where he grew up in northern Oklahoma. Small towns and rural areas are suffering due to lack of funding to keep ambulance services running. The town he lives in lost thier ambulance service two tears ago. After several deaths that could have been avoided if there had been local ambulance service, my son went to several small fire departments and ambulance services with the suggestion the national media be brought in to aid in thier struggles. NBC stepped up and did a spot. It aired last Sunday on the NBC Nightly News. The clip can be found on the NBC Nightly News web site and it is called Ambulances at Risk. My son was in it at the beginning and toward the end. Sometimes I can't believe I turned out such good kids, considering how horrible I was as a kid LOL. Brightest Blessings, Dalene
