I spend a lot of time reading the posts but am looking for some input now. Being

brand new to this is kind of scary. The rheumy started me on Plaquenil 200mg

twice a day, Pantoloc 40mg daily, Methotrexate 10mg once a week and folic acid

10mg the day after the methotrexate. From the little I have gleaned from all

your posts this seems like a reasonable plan of care. I understand about the

meds taking a couple months to kick in and all. My question is perhaps a bit

strange but here goes. After taking the meds for only one week I woke up after a

night shift one day and found I could hardly walk because of pain in my left

foot. I can stand okay but the bending motion of the foot when walking is really

painful. Do these drugs sometimes make things worse before they improve matters

or could this just be a fluke flareup which happened to come shortly after

starting the new regimen? Has anyone else had this experience? Luckily I am off

work for a two week

period so have 9 days to get better. Also- I am a bit of a workaholic and have

problems sitting and resting. Should I force myself to keep hobbling around or

should I MAKE myself spend a couple days with a few novels? I am afraid if I

stop moving things will seize up. Any input is appreciated. I learn so much from

all the posts yet feel like I still know so little. I am an RN but this is not

even remotely my area of specialty. Many thanks.
