I'm an adult, so it may not be relevant, but often when I feel like this it is

due to a B-12 deficiency.

Hello again, my 10 year old daughter has been in treatment for Lyme and

coinfections for several months now and has overall made great improvements. Her

headaches are mostly gone, stomach issues much improved as well as her aches and

pains, even her sleep issues are resolving but the last few days she has been

having profound weakness and slight dizziness. It is, as she describes it, an

overall feeling and is bad enough that she has left school early the last few

days and she is whining about how bad she feels. She has had similar bouts of

this before but never as bad as or as long lasting as this time. Despite all of

her improvements in times like this I tend to worry that something else may be

going on. Does this sound llike more of the same to you who have been there? Is

this Lyme related? Our Dr. recommended a break from abx for a couple of days but

so far no improvement.

Thank you for any insights or thoughts.

I agree . even though it may be from the Lymes, a herx, or the

treatment, co-ifec, etc. Most Lymies are B Deficient and I couldn't

function without my B-Cmplx everyday!

Thank you. She does take B12 sublingual drops daily but I guess its possible she

I have to take methyl B-12 5,000 mcg. daily, I had to take 2 (1,000 for several

months). Another way I know I may need extra b-12 is having cold hands and

feet. I had to stop taking b-complex because I tested too high for b-6, and it

turned out that was causing some of my pins and needles type symptoms in my

arms, and hands (peripheral neuropathy - nerve problems in the hands and feet,

which can cause numbness, tingling, pricking, and burning.

Thought I'd share that about the b-6 toxicity, I'm glad my doctor knew this. I

had assumed it was because of the lyme.

Thank you . I never thought of b6 toxicity but she just takes a b12

supplement. I guess I'll look into it all some more. Not sure what's going on

with her just keep hoping she'll snap out of it.

Hi

my daughter had to stop her abx due to complications (we thought she was

well enough to stop) and within 3 weeks she was so weak she was paralysed

- unable to hold her head up, unable to swallow, unable to move her arms &

legs, & having difficulty breathing. They put a picc line in & she's been

on daily IV abx since. She's still in her wheelchair, but is improving

all the time - it's just a long slow process.

This week we found out that she has lesions on her brain - probably from

the Lyme, but we are looking at other causes, just in case.

If you are worried, I'd get it checked out with a lyme literate paediatric

neurologist - if it is nothing it will put your mind at rest, & if it is

something other than Lyme, hopefully you have caught it early.

Best of luck - I'll be sending you lots of positive thoughts and prayers

from down under here in Australia.

It could also be that she is low on D. Lyme eats D so we are often low. Try a

high dose D and see if she feels better. You would know within a day or two.

Hi everyone -

Sorry to be so slow getting the Burrascano notes out. But this conversation is

reminding me of one thing he said: the CD57 numbers are all important. If you

feel better and the CD57 are not normal, you WILL relapse. If they are, you

will probably not relapse, at least for a while. Pretty much everyone relapses

eventually, but the course of treatment is shorter to get you back on track.

Basically, the doctors have to get you to a point where you still have the

bacterial load but your immune system is strong enough to battle it. Whee, fun.

But very useful info about the CD57.

My daughter has very similar symptoms.  She is 12 years old.  She has been

making some improvements but still has times of illness (headaches, aches and

pain, stomach issues, dizziness, extreme fatigue, etc.)  Very similar to what

you are describing.  She was down two weeks ago and just could not get out of

bed with many symptoms.  We weren't sure if it was a virus or the lyme.  Doc

said it could be herx and many patients have them. Starting tindamax this

weekend but only on weekends.   I've read so many threads from this group

(and

others) about this med that I am a bit afraid of what may come.

Hi Mildred,

I have a 10 year old that will be starting Tindamax in 2 weeks. We are only

scheduled to take it Fri, Sat am and Sat pm and Sunday the second week of a

three week antibiotic push, with the forth week off everything but

supplements. We should compare notes as to how it goes. My oldest daughter

took it only 3 days a month and did not see anything happen.

Good Luck,

in Virginia
