Guest guest
Hi Pamela, I can relate to what you are going through. I have been sick for over ten years, was misdiagnosed in 2005 with fibro. I have had alot of pain and fatigue for many years, I am now permanently unemployed because of this. I take humira once a week along with etodolac for inflamation. I have found that i am dizzy and light headed the entire day after injecting the humira. I have gained sixty pounds in the last two years and i have alot of hair which comes out in clumps every day, i am told by hairdressers the hair loss is due to the shampoo i use i dont believe that. I think you might want to consider a new rheumy, one who listens, i too have thyroid problems. I hope i helped you even a little. Guest guest
Hi Pamela, You wrote:... I led a normal life with some meds up until 7 years ago when I had my child. Then ... fell apart... had to take sick leave for 3 years. I am a special needs teacher ... First, I must tell you of my respect for what you do for children with special needs. Eleven years ago, I volunteered to tutor first grade beginning readers. What joy it was for me! The little ones appreciate every effort made to help them and constantly gave out unconditional love in the form of hugs. My daughter has home-schooled her children, worked as a sub. in primary - elementary and discovered the hug machines in the halls. She's working now as an aid with special needs sixth graders while she works on her own teaching certificate for primary grades. Then you wrote... they took my job... The stress... has sent my body haywire. Stress, even GOOD stress, can do that to us. Childbirth always sent me into a tailspin. So for the last several months my rheumy has had me on Enbrel (stopped working), then Humira... Yep, tried Enbrel and now Humira, sooo ... .... He also had interchanged the name PA and Ankylosing Spondylitis In my convoluted thinking, I can kinda see why. There just seem to be some similarities when PA is in the spine. Not sure why... .... my other biggest problem besides the pain(I can't turn my neck or hardly bend) That's when I had to stop volunteering: muscle spasms in the neck and a non-stop headache for TWO years (pre-insurance days). .... HAIRLOSS... I am so confused and tired of all this. I eat right, exercise, take vitamins...and am getting worse. Can anyone relate??? .... I can definitely relate to that one. My hairdresser suggested vitamin E which 'may' have helped a tiny bit; then my rheumy recommended OTC B-complex and 800 mcg folic acid daily which has stopped the loss; now I can see new hair about 1/4 inch long! Check with your doctor about this or just give it a try. In a month or so, tell us about it. With loving respect for school teachers, especially those who keep trying to work when they're sick, Ms. Patty in a scorched Pineywoods of East Texas
