Guest guest
Hello. I have just been diagnosed with a moderate case of PA. Blood work ruled out RA and lupus. Doc said x-rays show calcification in ligaments. Some bone damage. X-rays show arthritis in my spine, neck, shoulders and hand. I didn't have hips, knees or feet x-rayed but they hurt at times, too. I talked with her (dermatologist) about Humira. I'm not sure I will start it. The side effects seem to be as serious as can be... I have a couple questions... is the purpose of Humira (and other biologics) to reduce inflammation only? Can the effects of PA be reversed by taking Humira (or any other PA med)? I have read that PA is progressive but also can go into remission. Does anyone know what causes it to go into remission? I have begun to take some supplements that help with inflammation. Thanks for any help. (I have had psoriasis (mild) since puberty and presently also have fibromyalgia and type II diabetes).
