Guest guest
My daughter is 9 and has Lyme and Bartonella. She recently had a midline put in for IV treatment of Rocephin because her rage attacks were out of control. She was like a wild animal. 3 days into treatment, she got a 6 inch blood clot which luckily we caught and are now treating with 2 injections daily of Lovenox. For a child who is already so anxious, and can't even stand in the bathroom by herself, you can just imagine how the shots are going. At the moment, we are not treating Lyme or Bartonella because I am nervous to use any herbs (which is what Dr. C primarily uses for treatment) because of their effect on the blood clot. We have met with a couple of Psychiatrists to try to find a psychotropic drug to help calm my daughter during this time and during treatment. One doc recommended Seroquel. Another Abilify. There is a strong history of Diabetes in the family so we quickly ruled out Seroquel. Her symptoms are rage, anger, hostility, anxiety, fear, OCD and motor and vocal tics. Has anyone had any luck with Psychotropic drugs with their children and if so, can you provide any guidance as to which drugs you have worked with? Thanks so much. I am treading water over here....
