Guest guest
My 5 year old daughter was infected with Lyme and co-infections summer '08. She's been on Azith since and started Mepron 4 months into treatment. She was doing so well Dr. J and Dr. H took her off the Mepron. She immediately showed symptoms so she went back on. The two months later she had been symptom free so they again took her off. Since she has been having more pains and so she most likely needs to go back on. I have two questions: 1) How long have your kids stayed on Mepron? It seems to be endless and maybe we're making a mistake when we keep taking her off. Do any of your kids relapse when you take them off? 2) Tali turns into this kid I barely recognize in the evenings -- totally manic, hyper, super goofy, not listening, more aggressive with her little brother, more needy and totally not behaving. To me it seems this is Lyme/Babesia related, however she ONLY does this with me and ONLY when I have not seen her all day. So I don't know if I am using Lyme to cover what is really just a pre-schooler acting out because she misses her mommy who works incredibly long days and sees her only one hour before bed (I work a 4-day work week 10 hrs a day with a 2 hr commute...and no, there is no choice in this matter. I am a single mom with two sick kids and a gazillion medical bills). You see my dilemma though? My real question is: " Can personality change that IS caused by the disease(s) only manifest in certain situations? " Everyone keeps telling me it's not the Lyme since it only happens with me and only in the evenings (not weekends etc.).Of course the increased leg pain is the convincing factor for me, along with my gut, but I know Mepron is a tough medicine and it worries me to keep her on long term. Thanks so much (now in another post I am going to ask about my son...oiy!) Beth
