Guest guest
Most spiritual disciplines teach this concept. Hard to get it though. My friend who is in a wheel chair with partial paralysis reminded me of it last week. He feels no pain in his legs. He's a pistol. The first time he sat in his first wheel chair after his accident, he looked up at the nurse and asked, " Does this chair make my butt look big? " . Because he does not feel pain, he barely escaped hospitalization for an infection he had gotten as a result of knicking his leg with his wheelchair while getting into it. He could not feel the pain from the infection itself so he did not realize how bad it was until he began to feel physically sick. He's on antibiotics now and getting better. I did not say anything to him along these lines but I silently thanked God that I felt pain. Never thought I'd do that. Something to think about. -Betz
