Guest guest
Jen go down to your local dicount store or walmart get the water weights and the swimming noodles they are long and made of some sort of floating device this is great for you to stay up in the water and do your stretching I will give you instuctions if you would like on the things that I do in the water with these items. It is very important that you try and work on your abs to protect you lower back and the only thing that can do that is the water without causing you excrutiating pain. Let me know if you invest in these things and I will tell you some exersises to do also if you jog in place in the water that is real good too. leg lifts and knee crunches are real good. just let me know girl k and I will do what I can to help. I hope that you are doing well otherwise Loves and prayers coming your way JanineSmokie1952 <smokie1952@...> wrote: Are you in the Albany area ? Guest guest
Kathy, Speaking of swimsuits, since my torso it rather short due to the scoliosis, one-piece suits don't fit well. And I don't really feel like wearing a bikini and showing off stretch marks from my pregnancies I really like getting the two-piece suits where the top looks like a tank-top and the bottoms are boycut shorts. I'm not overly modest, but I DO feel a little less exposed. Buying to the & bottom separately also allows me to get different sizes as needed for a better fit. And usually it looks like it's a one-piece when I'm wearing it. Another benefit is when I need to use the restroom - it's much easier to take off and pull the bottoms back up, rather than trying to peel off a complete wet one-piece. I'm sorry that the water therapy seems to be causing you pain. Have you asked your doctor about that? I haven't had revision surgery, but perhaps the exercises they're having you do aren't gentle enough, or they are overworking you in some way. I hope you're able to find some help. > > Just wanted to update and say I have gone several times for water > therapy. I do not feel like it is helping, and in fact I hurt a good > bit more. Guest guest
I just wanted to encourage people to check out the local YMCA or aquatic center for sanctioned Arthritis Water Therapy classes. I go twice a week for an hour. The water temp in the pool has to be at least 85 degrees. It has been very helpful to me. They work every joint including fingers. They also work on balance. I am better able to pick my feet up when I walk. I haven't seen anyone talk about this, so I just wanted to let everyone know about it.
